Hope and Love<br />
I see them sitting there. The boy and his older brother. The brother is kind and gentle, and has had it rough,<br />
while the young one is just sitting there, starving, not knowing what to think.<br />
They are sitting there, wanting and waiting for something to happen. Maybe the boy is waiting for his mother,<br />
not realizing she has been taken away, forever. And maybe the older brother is praying in his mind that they<br />
will get through this, they will live.<br />
What I see is love. They are both just sitting there, together. Trying to keep close. Trying to keep warm. The<br />
older brother is even giving some of his meal to his brother, when he is starving himself.<br />
I also see hope. Hope in their eyes, hope in their love, and hope in each other. When they are sitting there they<br />
are hoping and loving each other, more now than ever because they don’t know what to think of these cruel-<br />
hearted people, these soldiers. Hope and love are keeping them together.<br />
When I see this, I think of my sisters, and what we would do. I would love them. Hold them close to me and<br />
never let go. I would love them and pray that we would get out of there alive. Staying alive, with love and hope.<br />
