A Million Little Pieces<br />
Love is an illusion;<br />
Love is, face it, pretend.<br />
Love is there to make us feel<br />
like the princess in a fairytale,<br />
Love isn’t pickin’ or chosin’<br />
You just fall<br />
And every time you fall, it just becomes<br />
harder to get back up;<br />
Because love is a risk we take, a sacrifice,<br />
When people put their whole heart into things,<br />
like love,<br />
all it means is another easy way to get broken;<br />
When a heart breaks,<br />
it shatters into a million pieces,<br />
just like glass<br />

Once a heart has shattered,<br />
it’s not easy putting the pieces back together;<br />
Mending a broken heart isn’t as simple as<br />
sticking a band-aid on your chest,<br />
Like a jigsaw puzzle,<br />
it’s hard.<br />
Sometimes it even takes<br />
forever;<br />
And after a heart is finished mending<br />
you just move along,<br />
Like the clouds in the sky on a brilliant summer day,<br />
you move along;<br />
You’re independent now,<br />
your heart drums the beat to its own song.<br />
