When I was born I had a dog named “Teddy.” He was a dog like Lassie from Lassie, Come Home. Teddy and I
used to chase the mailman, and Teddy would usually rip his pants. This used to be my morning entertainment. On
Sundays we annoyed the little girl down the street.
One day my parents told me that we were moving away and Teddy couldn’t come with us. They told me he would
go with my loving babysitter. I hated that woman with every bone in my body. She was a vile person. So when he
had to move to my disgusting babysitter’s house, my parents bought me a bear. I named it “Teddy” so I would al-
ways remember him. The bear was so soft and plush. It was light brown with deep chocolate eyes. To me, the bear
always smiled.
Two years later Teddy died and then the bear seemed to frown. Teddy the bear still sits in my closet, in his arms
a picture of me and Teddy rests.
