Come closer to me
Ria Lins

Amazement at interpersonal relationships and the adaptability to the
diversity of our society are threads that can be found throughout my
work, and these threads can take on a variety of colors.
Wearability and, above all, the way jewels behave are primordial in
the design. The key words for this collection are connection, contact,
link, relationship and coherence.
Photographs of my work are just a fraction of their presentation.
It’s a pity to not be able to feel my pieces. They are extremely tactile
and soft. They feel like fabric and the movement they make when you
walk is very poetical and unique.

Meander, necklace, gold & thread

Without the thread there wouldn’t be no piece at all. It would fall
apart. It is the strong maker, the cement. The use of needle and
thread and the rhythmic movement of women-handicraft works
healing and comforting. A little like medication. It is sooting.
For me the use of silver is rather coincidental. By its
weight I get the beautiful wavy movement in my necklaces.
But the silver & gold certainly contributes to warmt and value of
each piece. By using the thread they get soft and shimmery when
they move, to comfort, to nurse and to care for.
