The »la vie« restaurant is a very significant 

address. Under Bühner's leadership, this 

gourmet haven soon became Restaurant 

of the Year, a member of Relais & Châteaux 

and a first-class place for his staff to work. 

Creativity and skill are very important 

here, but so is a sense of team spirit and 

belonging. All of which are actively practiced 

in Bühner's kitchen – and the results 

are presented on a platter for all the 

guests to enjoy.

pretentious. But behind the facade it is for the quaint-futuristic flair: rustic timber

On their travels, the chef and his wife 

have ended up on a secluded island be- 

fore. The enormous island in the WAREN- 

DORF kitchen, on the other hand, fills the 

room with life. This is where they cook 

with friends and talk about art as they 

enjoy a glass of wine. Open and bright, 

just like the kitchen itself.

The surrounding offset rail adds contours that 

extend beyond the side panels. 

The appearance of the kitchen is domi- 

nated by the high gloss fronts in a special 

shade of orange. The many clever design 

details are functionally convincing. The 

horizontal offset rail goes all the way 

around the cupboards under the island. 

When closed, they accentuate the sand- 

stone worktop in Desert Grey, which is 

only 3 centimetres thick. When open, the 

drawers reveal a variable internal organisation 

system in pale beech that keeps 

everything tidy and easy to find. In between, 

there is a prestigious wine cooler, 

which will bring the precious liquid to just 

the right temperature as well as warming 

the heart of the person tasting it.

rituals. During the daytime, mum Bea lov- 

ingly makes breakfast, helps with home-

from one of his numerous business trips, 

his space at the kitchen counter is already 

occupied again. The children can hardly

Sarner home only calms down again when 

dessert is served, and then only briefly.

45 millimetres deep. The fine horizontal 

grooves on the reflector rear panel con- 

duct the light straight onto the worktop 

without glaring. Even when the light is 

switched off, the element creates a subtle 

mirrored effect. Or colourful highlights 

when the recessed coloured lights are 

switched on. Flush mounted in the wall 

units, the changing or fixed spectral col- 

ours define the atmosphere in the room 

and attract attention. And they can be ad- 

justed individually and by remote control.

Päivi Karvela performs her music with 

passion – and does not shun the limelight 

herself, either. Just like a genuine soloist: 

self-assured, liberal, extrovert. Qualities 

that are clearly visible, both in the single 

woman and her lifestyle. In her choice of 

fashions or furnishings or in the way she 

welcomes her guests. At the same time, 

the vibrant artist also exudes a pleasant 

air of tranquillity. When she is cooking, 

concentrating on composing or reading 

until late at night. And sometimes when 

she watches the wild animals in the 

woods from her couch at the window.

When the jazz bassist invites guests for 

a jam session, she doesn’t need to offer

surroundings. The studio turns into 

a concert hall. The kitchen with its island 

becomes the stage. The hostess enjoys 

it all to the full: the attention of her audience, 

the compliments of her colleagues, 

the admiring glances to her extravagant

The grid pattern of the large-surface 

fronts is repeated, just like a chorus. An 

illuminated niche emphasises the linear

detracts from the successful orchestra-

interruption around the corners.

life: The generously dimensioned wall of 

tall units offers masses of storage space.

things. The tall units behind the Tineo 

fronts tone perfectly with the colour 

scheme of the worktops. The folding 

doors without handles add a very spe- 

cial touch. The upper row opens electri- 

cally when touched, the lower row has a 

recessed profile, a sort of »unplugged« 

opening function. The musician espe- 

cially likes to leave them open at night 

so that the LEDs that backlight the glass 

shelves can exude creative lighting.

rial is vibrantly haptic, sturdy and easy to 

care for. The ceramic hob is flush recessed. 

Behind it: a stylish extraction unit that dis- 

appears without trace into the cupboard 

below at the touch of a button. The draw- 

ers and pull-outs only need a gentle tap 

to open automatically. Aluminium strips 

with LEDs illuminate the interior.

PURE WHITE. Timelessly classic and 

modern: a kitchen with a clear and light 

look. With the contoured side panels that 

are typically associated with living room 

furniture, a slim line Geta Core® worktop 

that is just 2 cm thick and a coloured 

light line. From the particularly wide wall 

units with backlit glass shelves and no 

handles. To the base units with different 

options for opening the cupboards, with 

straightforward handles and all in micro 

textured white lacquer L14. A seamless 

transition between cooking and living 

area.

SWEET GUM TREE. Extravagant sweet 

gum tree veneer N33 matched with fronts 

without handles define the appearance 

of this kitchen. And highlight the homely 

character. The satinised glass worktop is 

just 12 mm thick and adds a touch of lightness 

to the functional island.

TINEO. Unusual and yet pleasingly mod- 

est: Tineo fronts N33 add a touch of indi- 

viduality to the kitchen. High gloss wall 

units in cream L13 produce a harmonious 

contrast. Both highlights continue from 

the midway system light panel to the 

kitchen island right over into the integrated 

eating area with wall shelving 

and recessed coloured LED spots. 


WALNUT. Plenty of room in a small space: 

The walnut decor F30 on the top quality 

laminate fronts continues across the entire 

width of the units. White wall units 

make the room look larger. The lighting 

consoles provide practical working light.

AVANTGARDE. A strictly symmetrical 

kitchen – unexpectedly versatile. The dark 

stained oak veneer N30 and warm irides- 

cent bronze coloured glass produce a fascinating 

combination. The granite worktop, 

tall units at the top and shelves down 

the sides with colour-changeable LED 

backlit walls are just as eye catching. At 

the back of the island, base units alternate 

systematically with open storage 

spaces. 

TERRA. A harmony of shapes and colours. 

This kitchen is eye catching, not just because 

of its horizontal lines but also with 

its two-tone colour scheme in smooth 

lacquer L15: natural »Terra«, with cream 

fronts and Laminam® worktop beneath. 

In between, a subtly reflecting midway 

system light ensures a pleasant lighting 

effect. Wall mounted lowboards create 

the transition to the adjacent eating area.

SAND ASH. Clarity right down the line: 

this architecturally minimalist kitchen 

design does not need any adornment. 

Electrically operated pull-outs are more 

comfortable than handles. The striking 

ash decor F23 is highlighted by the pro- 

fessional appearance of the thin stain- 

less steel worktop and the stainless steel 

coloured metal edges on the system 

panels. At the same time, lighting con- 

soles under the wall units and a dining 

set with a lowboard bench exude a warm 

and homely atmosphere. 

BLACK & WHITE. A graphic kitchen, full 

of contrasts and variety. Black and white, 

distinctive and clear. And yet the combination 

of smooth white lacquer L15 and 

black coloured glass F19 on the fronts 

and worktops still manages to create 

smooth transitions: turning a functional 

kitchen into a homely kitchen, and the 

open shelves into an office or library. The 

mounted walnut counter directly connects 

to the eating area.

TINEO AND PURE WHITE. For those who 

like a purist style: the kitchen design with 

smooth fronts and no handles fills the 

room with character and lightness. Cool 

white high gloss lacquer L13 and Tineo 

veneer N33 with a horizontal grain, con- 

tour panels and an extremely slim glass 

worktop produce a clear and simple look. 

Wall units are intentionally dispensed with. 

Instead, a midway system light panel is 

installed along two adjacent walls to 

provide a band of light. The integrated 

living room element creates the transition 

to the living area. 


DARK BROWN OAK. The combination of 

laminate F10 and dark brown oak F30 

creates some fascinating contrasts. The 

L-shaped kitchen with its slim stainless 

steel worktop blends architecturally with 

the living room furniture. Shelves with 

no visible mounting and a plinth base 

with just 6 cm high feet emphasise the 

linear design and provide the transition 

to the living area.

COUNTRY HOUSE LOOK. Tradition meets 

lifestyle: This stylish kitchen is a contem- 

porary interpretation of classic, romantic 

and country style elements. The subtly 

profiled frames on the panel walls, glass 

fronted wall units and tall unit combina- 

tion add a touch of charming flair to the 

room. Worktops combining natural stone 

and massive elm produce a vibrant con- 

trast. 


COUNTRY HOUSE STYLE. Framed fronts 

are combined with extremely slim work- 

tops and modern, straight handles. They 

are joined by dresser units with frame 

design that open by touch, without the 

need for handles. The wall panelling in the
