2009 was marked by numerous awards for

specialties. The annual culinary guide “Essen,
Trinken und Genießen 2009” of German consumer
magazine “ÖKO-TEST”, for example, gave
ERDINGER Weissbier with Fine Yeast top marks
(“very good”) in every category. ERDINGER
Urweisse was voted “Newcomer of the Year
2008” by the prestigious trade journal “Getränke
Zeitung”. This opinion was shared by readers of

The South Tyrolean biathlete Lukas Hofer is
regarded as a major hope for the future and has
already clearly demonstrated his talent and his
iron will to succeed. The likeable and down-toearth
20-year-old already picked up two gold
medals – in sprint and pursuit – at the Junior
World Championships 2009 in Canmore, Canada.
Hofer’s aim: “I want to establish myself as

Miriam Gössner is not only an excellent crosscountry

talents. She proved this at the Junior World
Championships in 2009, where she won gold in
pursuit and silver in the sprint. She also got off to
a great start in 2010 by taking 5th place in the
cross-country event at the Tour de Ski in Oberhof.
As a result, she was able to qualify for the
Winter Olympics in Vancouver. At the 21st Winter
Olympics she then won a silver medal in the
cross-country relay event, thanks in part to her
own fantastic performance.

The Hombre de Hierro from Peru
Vladimir Figari is actually an architect in Lima.
But at the same time, he is also Peru’s “Hombre
de Hierro” – or Peru’s iron man. Among his
greatest successes are the 1st place he took at the
Great Floridian Triathlon 2008 in Clermont, Florida,
with the third fastest time ever recorded for
this event. In 2009, the 38-year-old triathlete
came 37th in the famous Ironman Florida in
Panama Beach City, but was 6th in his age category.
In his native Peru, Figari is one of the country’s
best known and most popular athletes. In the Triathlon
Paracas – on the peninsular of the same
