(57) Abstract :<br />

Embodiments herein provide for methods, compositions <strong>and</strong> apparati for detection <strong>and</strong>/or diagnosis <strong>of</strong> virus types, subtypes <strong>and</strong>/or<br />

strains. In <strong>part</strong>icular embodiments, the virus is an influenza virus. The apparatus may include a microarray with attached capture<br />

probes, designed to bind to oligonucleotides capable <strong>of</strong> binding at least a portion <strong>of</strong> a nucleic acid sequence <strong>of</strong> one or more target<br />

genes in a broad array <strong>of</strong> influenza types, subtypes or strains. The compositions may include isolated nucleic acids as capture probes,<br />
