(57) Abstract :<br />

A system <strong>and</strong> method are provided for the determination <strong>of</strong> urethral blockage. The system comprises a transducer arrangement for<br />

locating in the vicinity <strong>of</strong> the patient's urine flow, <strong>and</strong> a control unit in communication with the transducer arrangement. The<br />

transducer arrangement has at least one acoustic transducer capable <strong>of</strong> at least receiving acoustic waves, generated by the patient's<br />

urine flow, <strong>and</strong> producing an output signal indicative there<strong>of</strong>. The control unit receives <strong>and</strong> processes the output signal <strong>and</strong> determines<br />

a change in the output signal indicative <strong>of</strong> the urethral blockage.<br />
