Letter from the Co-Chairs
Welcome to Old Bags! As we look forward to this wonderful evening of fabulous handbags and friends, we’d like to
reflect on our journey this year. In one of the worst economic climates in the history of many of our lives, friends, family members,
business owners, and even celebrities opened their hearts and closets to donate to our 4 th Annual Old Bags auction to help find
children forever families. Because of them, many who are here tonight, our auction is a resounding success. For that we are
grateful!
We share this success with a committee of dedicated and hardworking women from the St. Louis community; they are the
ones wearing the pink gerbera daisies. We thank each of them for all their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to Old
Bags and the Coalition. Without them, tonight would not be possible. These women worked for months to put together
everything you see here tonight. They are truly a blessing and a fantastic group of women whom we now call friends. Speaking of
friends, we would like to give a special thanks to our fearless leader, Debbie Genung, Director of Development for the Coalition.
She is not only the face of Old Bags, but one of the hardest working women in foster and adoptive care. Thank you so much,
Debbie, for all of your guidance and assistance, but most of all for being an inspiration to our group and making us try a little bit
harder to raise money for this amazing organization!
We would also like to take a moment to thank the volunteers who are working here tonight. Thank you so much for your
help. Thanks also to the Zoo and Lake Forest Confections for tying a nice bow around the evening with the wonderful food and
desserts we will no doubt enjoy.
Finally, we would like to thank our guests for coming tonight. We hope our hard work has paid off and that you enjoy
the evening. We tried to collect something for everyone, so please take your time – but not too long as those sections close quickly
– and find the purchase you’ve been waiting for. We hope you walk away with not only a great buy, but a desire to help us find
forever families for children!
