ADMINISTRATOR’S MESSAGE
On behalf of Northern Beaches Council, I am pleased
to present the first Northern Beaches Council Seniors
Festival program.
‘Inclusive Communities’ is the theme for this
year’s Festival and it is exciting to see events held
throughout the Northern Beaches addressing
the different needs within our community.
Stimulate your mind, reinvigorate your body and enrich your life with
events such as walks, lecture series, line dancing, games sessions,
kayaking, downsizing your home presentations, social outings,
technology sessions and using social media...just to name a few.
So why not kick up your heels at Scottish dancing, cook up a storm
with the men’s kitchen or embrace your competitive side and hit
the games table?
Council events presented as part of the festival include travel
workshops, a Meals on Wheels community luncheon, cemetery tours,
coastal walks, aquatic exercise sessions and fixing kids’ toys.
Northern Beaches Council is committed to providing information and
support to our seniors and Council staff are fortunate to be working
alongside an array of committed organisations helping to create an
inclusive community.
I encourage participants to connect with the community during this
festival. Invite a friend or neighbour to an event, share it on Facebook
or even invite someone on the bus!
Thank you to all the community groups and businesses who have
contributed to this year’s program.
I hope you enjoy the Festival.
Dick Persson AM
Administrator, Northern Beaches Council
services and support. These directories can be found at Council
libraries, community centres, customer service areas and through
various service providers.
