matthew macfadyen, luke Evans and ray stevenson star in The Three Musketeers. The Three Musketeers (PG-13) The classic Dumas novel comes to life in an entirely new take in this fourth making of the legendary conflict between the King’s Guard and the evil Cardinal Richelieu. The names are the same but the action in this version of The Three Musketeers is definitely more daring, fantastic and memorable - including battles amid flying ships and sword fights atop Notre Dame Cathedral. Athos, Porthos and Aramis have receded into hard times when D’Artagnan stirs them into action to defend against an evil plan of Richelieu and his henchmen to begin a war between England and France. With battle scenes designed to thrill contemporary audiences, the chivalry and courage in this 19th century setting never fail to deliver. The Muppets (PG) Nothing warms the hearts of audiences quite like this troupe of sassy, singing characters. Old school show references are balanced with new school fun and entertainment. After achieving significant fame together and having moved on in their own successful directions, the Muppets are historical remnants until Gary (Jason Segal) and Mary (Amy Adams) learn of a nefarious plan by oil magnate Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to drill for black gold under the abandoned studio owned by the group. As always, the creative genius of the Muppets materializes as real people interact with felt puppets to deliver a fun and memorable story of loyalty and friendship. Also appearing are Alan Arkin and Zach Galifianakis. 18 PaUSE | ISSUE NO. 19 www.mediacomcable.com
