The remodel/ rebuild project simulates the era of some of Lakefield’s historical buildings including the train station and marina, setting a new standard in the Village for commercial properties. ENTREPRENEUR INNOVATION – R&J Machine Sponsored by RBC Royal Bank - Family owned and operated, they have designed and manufactured quality waterfront products for over 32 years. One of the first companies in the industry to offer lift up docks, boat lifts and marine railways, they now also design and build suspended boathouses. They recently fabricated a glass boathouse that won the Governor General’s award for architecture. ENVIRONMENTAL – Lakefield College School Sponsored by MASS Environmental Services Inc. LCS was the first independent school in Canada to install an in-vessel composter that converts food waste into compost which is used on LCS grounds, improving the school’s waste diversion rate by 30%.
