As a Jamaican immigrant, I am concerned
that a Trump presidency will
restrict the access of immigrants worldwide
from being a part of a nation that
was built by immigrants. As for Clinton,
I am fearful that she will cave in to Wall
Street and her donors -and allow them to
take advantage of many immigrants who
have worked painstaking hard to achieve
things like home ownership and education
for their children.

This election process has created a sort
of controlled distress, dread and anxiety
within me and many of my friends and
family. This unfamiliar ‘election hell’ is
unfathomable. This is the most important
election of our lifetime and it is absolutely
imperative that every person who
can vote does so as this vote is not only
for us but for generations to come. I pray
we can continue to live in a country with
freedom and dignity.

This is my first time voting but one
of the candidates gives me nightmares.
From multiple reports, he is a compulsive
career groper, abusive, disrespectful and
just this morning (Tuesday) we are hearing
he has ties to the Kremlin and hasn’t
paid federal tax in decades. He will never
get my vote. In his fantasy world the Miss
Universe girls would end up as Supreme
Court justices. When I see him on the
news I get nervous as I think he’s gonna
break out from the TV and assault me.

General Vincent Byron said that
the previous Douglas-led administration
in St Kitts and Nevis “walked on the constitution”
when for 26 months the former
speaker of the house, Curtis Martin, “refused
to table a motion of no confidence
that had been filed with the clerk as the
constitution required, as following the
rule of law required.”
