of <strong>the</strong> heavenly sanctuary to <strong>the</strong> better covenant of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Son of God. Christ fulfills <strong>the</strong> priesthood of<br />

both Melchizedek and Aaron. He took upon<br />

Himself flesh and blood, and was <strong>the</strong> seed of<br />

Abraham. He was "in all points tempted like as we<br />

are, yet without sin," and He was made "perfect<br />

through suffering," and "it behooved him to be<br />

made like unto his brethren; that he might be a<br />

merciful and faithful High Priest."<br />

5. The ceremonies of <strong>the</strong> Levitical priesthood<br />

did not perfect those for whom <strong>the</strong>y were<br />

performed. These ceremonies were divided<br />

between <strong>the</strong> daily service and <strong>the</strong> yearly service.<br />

The daily service did not atone for <strong>the</strong> sins ei<strong>the</strong>r<br />

individually or collectively, but was a continual<br />

intercession. The making of atonement was a<br />

special work for which special directions were<br />

given. Christ was to "purge our conscience" and to<br />

"perfect for ever <strong>the</strong>m that are sanctified"<br />

(Hebrews 9:13, 14; 10:14).<br />

6. The daily ministration was different from <strong>the</strong><br />

yearly made on <strong>the</strong> 10th day of <strong>the</strong> 7th month. In<br />
