that can only be met when that generation senses<br />

<strong>the</strong> travail and distress it has caused, but which in<br />

its immaturity has mercifully been hidden from it.<br />

We are that generation! We have not fathomed<br />

<strong>the</strong> pain which <strong>the</strong> Lamb has borne since <strong>the</strong><br />

inception of sin nor perceived <strong>the</strong> continued agony<br />

of <strong>the</strong> human race as <strong>the</strong> result of our blindness.<br />

We have yet to learn "that whosoever shall call on<br />

<strong>the</strong> name of <strong>the</strong> Lord shall be delivered: for in<br />

mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverence,<br />

as <strong>the</strong> Lord hath said, and in <strong>the</strong> remnant whom <strong>the</strong><br />

Lord shall call" (Joel 2:32).<br />

We are that Remnant. The repentance of <strong>the</strong><br />

ages is still in <strong>the</strong> future. We have yet to receive<br />

that which heaven would pour out upon us, for <strong>the</strong><br />

promise is: "I will pour out upon <strong>the</strong> house of<br />

David, and upon <strong>the</strong> inhabitants of Jerusalem, <strong>the</strong><br />

spirit of grace and supplications: and <strong>the</strong>y shall<br />

look upon me whom <strong>the</strong>y have peirced, and <strong>the</strong>y<br />

shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only<br />

son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is<br />
