time would have no spiritual resources and would<br />
be bound up in <strong>the</strong> cold legal symbols of <strong>the</strong><br />
Sabbath which were so manifest among <strong>the</strong> Jews.<br />
They despised Jesus for what He did on <strong>the</strong><br />
Sabbath because <strong>the</strong> spiritual truth of <strong>the</strong> Sabbath<br />
had eluded <strong>the</strong>m. Similar perils face us.<br />
This should help us understand that when<br />
Christ tried to tell <strong>the</strong> Jews that new wine cannot<br />
be put into old bottles He was stating a principle.<br />
He was proclaiming that truth is not static. It grows<br />
or it turns to corruption. The character of God<br />
Himself will evermore increasingly be revealed.<br />
Eternity will be unending progress, everlasting<br />
advancement and success. The character of God<br />
must be seen in this setting. Even mortal man<br />
senses with his finite comprehension that <strong>the</strong><br />
universe is infinite, ever expanding in harmony<br />
with an infinite Creator. This provides <strong>the</strong> basis for<br />
a ceaseless challenge in a new earth, a re-creation<br />
with sin blotted out. But for now, "at <strong>the</strong> time of<br />
<strong>the</strong> end," when "<strong>the</strong> mystery of God should be<br />
finished," our understanding must be enlarged. The<br />
