meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" (Hebrews 5:12-14). And the epistle goes on to say we need to leave the elementary teachings about Christ and grow to maturity not laying over and over the foundation of repentance from sins that lead to death (Hebrews 6:1). There is no stronger meat in all God's Word than the three angels' messages. Only mature people who have been weaned will have eyes strong enough to endure its full glory. Those who choose to remain children feeding on milk will be the ones to "drink of the wine of the wrath of God" and they will not be able to abide "in the presence of the Lamb" (Revelation 14:6-12). The Lord Jesus tried to explain this terrible truth as He portrayed events coming "at the time of the end." When He said " woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days," was He laying a burden on those who happened to be pregnant (Matthew 24:19, 20)? 163
