national pride. They were consumed with <strong>the</strong><br />
thought of national greatness and <strong>the</strong>ir eternal<br />
inheritance became a barren desert. In <strong>the</strong> hands of<br />
lustful, blind prodigals <strong>the</strong> oracles of God were like<br />
pearls before swine. Can <strong>the</strong> remnant see this<br />
danger? We too are children of Abraham.<br />
The prodigal son had to mature before he could<br />
appreciate all that his fa<strong>the</strong>r had done for him.<br />
From infancy to his self-important youthful age he<br />
had been nurtured and protected with every need<br />
supplied. What his eyes saw and what his mind<br />
comprehended were far apart. He was blind to <strong>the</strong><br />
fact that <strong>the</strong> "best robe" in <strong>the</strong> house and <strong>the</strong> signet<br />
ring of his fa<strong>the</strong>r's seal had to be withheld until "he<br />
came to himself" and understood <strong>the</strong> value of <strong>the</strong><br />
heritage (Luke 15:11-32). In all history has <strong>the</strong>re<br />
been a "prodigal" like <strong>the</strong> seventh church? Has <strong>the</strong><br />
love of <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r ever before been so persistantly<br />
ignored and stubbornly misunderstood?<br />
What this wayward child saw and experienced<br />
in type in <strong>the</strong> conscious mind had to be purged by<br />
experience until "he came to himself." <strong>Then</strong> his<br />
