correct in stating that <strong>the</strong> church could have been in<br />
<strong>the</strong> kingdom before now <strong>the</strong> total answer is only<br />
made more positive. Time will continue, <strong>the</strong> fruit<br />
of sin will become increasingly more bitter, "signs"<br />
will become ever more impressive that <strong>the</strong> "end" is<br />
near—but it cannot come until <strong>the</strong> church truly<br />
desires it.<br />
This is completely in harmony with <strong>the</strong><br />
statement of Christ, "That day and hour knoweth<br />
no man, no, not <strong>the</strong> angels which are in heaven,<br />
nei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> Son, but <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r" (Mark 13:32).<br />
There is good reason that not even <strong>the</strong> Son knows.<br />
He returned to heaven as a member of <strong>the</strong> human<br />
family ever to remain one with <strong>the</strong>m. But in His<br />
statement <strong>the</strong>re is a promise that One knows and<br />
<strong>the</strong> human race may take courage that <strong>the</strong> present<br />
confusion and dismal uncertainty will not continue<br />
indefinitely. The sanctuary shall be cleansed. The<br />
human heart of God's people will be cleansed. The<br />
gospel will prove that it is <strong>the</strong> "power of God."<br />
But <strong>the</strong> Adventist conscience is troubled. It<br />
searches for an answer—when will this work be<br />
