What has Christ been doing? We are told that<br />

He has been carrying on His work in a special way<br />

in behalf of fallen man.<br />

His intercession is that of a pierced and broken<br />

body, of a spotless life. The wounded hands, <strong>the</strong><br />

pierced side, <strong>the</strong> marred feet, plead for fallen man,<br />

whose redemption was purchased at such infinite<br />

cost. "And <strong>the</strong> counsel of peace shall be between<br />

Them both." The love of <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r no less than of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Son, is <strong>the</strong> fountain of salvation for <strong>the</strong> lost<br />

race. Said Jesus to His disciples, before He went<br />

away, "I say not unto you, that I will pray <strong>the</strong><br />

Fa<strong>the</strong>r for you: for <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r Himself loveth you."<br />

The truth expressed here is <strong>the</strong> very opposite of<br />

pagan and papal ideas. Who needs to know of <strong>the</strong><br />

broken body? Man. Who needs to recognize <strong>the</strong><br />

wounded hands? Man. To whom is this pleading?<br />

Clearly we are <strong>the</strong> ones that need to know. But why<br />

us? <strong>Be</strong>cause <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r is well acquainted with <strong>the</strong><br />
