place. Consequently, any plan of redemption that<br />
God might make for man would have <strong>the</strong> problem<br />
of eradicating <strong>the</strong> "knowledge of guilt" from his<br />
mind. This would involve also causing him to<br />
know what brought <strong>the</strong> guilt complex into his<br />
thinking.<br />
The tree which <strong>the</strong> Lord had warned against<br />
was <strong>the</strong> tree of knowledge, of good and evil.<br />
Knowledge can only reside in <strong>the</strong> mind. This<br />
means that in <strong>the</strong> event of disobedience and sin, it<br />
would be <strong>the</strong> mind that would become involved<br />
and become corrupted. Once man chose to serve<br />
"self" instead of <strong>the</strong> Creator, he would know<br />
something he had not known before. What he came<br />
to know by his rebellion was guilt.<br />
This guilt has caused <strong>the</strong> human race to invent<br />
countless different cults and philosophies. It is <strong>the</strong><br />
cornerstone of every pagan concept of God and <strong>the</strong><br />
root of all <strong>the</strong> expiation doctrines of appeasement<br />
and vain hope of placating deity. It plagues <strong>the</strong> life<br />
of every unrepentant sinner and creates <strong>the</strong> desire<br />
