be in it?” (p. 137). But this c<strong>on</strong>cept of corporate<br />

and denominati<strong>on</strong>al repentance is rejected<br />

emphatically: “We do not believe that it is<br />

according to God’s plan and purpose for the<br />

present leadership of the movement to make<br />

acknowledgement or c<strong>on</strong>fessi<strong>on</strong>, either private or<br />

public, c<strong>on</strong>cerning any of the mistakes made by the<br />

leadership of a by-g<strong>on</strong>e generati<strong>on</strong>. … Your<br />

proposal is not according to God’s plan in His<br />

dealings with His people.”<br />

• The manuscript noted Ellen White’s<br />

predicti<strong>on</strong> of Baal worship as a result of rejecting<br />

the 1888 message (Testim<strong>on</strong>ies to Ministers, pp.<br />

467, 468), and asserted that we face that danger of<br />

c<strong>on</strong>fusi<strong>on</strong> with a false christ and Baal worship in<br />

our books and presentati<strong>on</strong>s. This is also stoutly<br />

denied: “Such a charge that the ministry is in any<br />

sense of the word, following the pattern of Baal<br />

worship, is entirely false and unfounded. It is our<br />
