and denominational repentance is rejected
emphatically: “We do not believe that it is
according to God’s plan and purpose for the
present leadership of the movement to make
acknowledgement or confession, either private or
public, concerning any of the mistakes made by the
leadership of a by-gone generation. … Your
proposal is not according to God’s plan in His
dealings with His people.”
• The manuscript noted Ellen White’s
prediction of Baal worship as a result of rejecting
the 1888 message (Testimonies to Ministers, pp.
467, 468), and asserted that we face that danger of
confusion with a false christ and Baal worship in
our books and presentations. This is also stoutly
denied: “Such a charge that the ministry is in any
sense of the word, following the pattern of Baal
worship, is entirely false and unfounded. It is our
