evaluations of aviators per the Aircrew Training Manual <strong>and</strong> AR 95–1.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be a rated warrant officer aviator with 12<br />

months experience as in instructor pilot (SQI C/ASI G2) <strong>and</strong> be a<br />

graduate of the Aviation Warrant Officer Avvanced Course (AWOAC)<br />

<strong>and</strong>:<br />

(1) Successfully complete the Instrument Flight Examiners Course;<br />

or<br />

(2) Successfully complete a flight examiner equivalency evaluation<br />

administered by a senior IP/IFE or a St<strong>and</strong>ardization Instructor Pilot<br />

selected by HQDA.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with Branch 15 (Aviation) only.<br />

G Aviation Maintenance Officer USAAVNC<br />

(Avn Maint Off)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to supervise maintenance <strong>and</strong> repair<br />

of aircraft, <strong>and</strong> perform maintenance test pilot functions.<br />

b. Qualifications. Mustbe a graduate of the Aviation Warrant officer<br />

Advanced Course (AWOAC), obtained Pilot in Comm<strong>and</strong> (PIC) status<br />

in the aircraft for which maintenance test pilot qualification is being<br />

sought, <strong>and</strong> must successfully complete the Maintenance Manager/<br />

Maintenance Test Pilot Course at the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Aviation Center, Fort<br />

Rucker, AL.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with aviator MOS only.<br />

H St<strong>and</strong>ardization Instructor Pilot USAAVNC<br />

(Stdzn Instr Pilot (SIP))<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of senior warrant officers qualified to instruct <strong>and</strong> evaluate students,<br />

rated aircrew <strong>and</strong> instructor pilots on all technical <strong>and</strong> tactical<br />

aspects of flying <strong>and</strong> operations per the Aircrew Training Manual, AR<br />

95–1 <strong>and</strong> AR 95–3, <strong>and</strong> manage, coordinate <strong>and</strong> supervise aircrew<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ardization <strong>and</strong> training programs.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be qualified as a Senior Instructor Pilot/Instrument<br />

Flight Examiner (SQI F), be a graduate of the Warrant Officer<br />

Staff Course (WOSC) or its MEL 4 equivalency, be designated by the<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>and</strong> successfully complete a St<strong>and</strong>ardization Instructor Pilot<br />

evaluation.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with Branch 15 (Aviation) AOC 152, 153,<br />

154, <strong>and</strong> 155 only.<br />

I Tactical Operations Officer USAAVNC<br />

(Tac Ops Off)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to plan, schedule, coordinate <strong>and</strong><br />

brief tactical <strong>and</strong> nontactical flying missions; operate the aviation mission<br />

planning station; develop, plan, coordinate <strong>and</strong> brief electronic<br />

warfare operations; manage flying hour programs <strong>and</strong> ALSE programs.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be a graduate of the Aviation Warrant Officer<br />

Advanced Course (AWOAC) <strong>and</strong> have successfully completed the<br />

ASE/EW Course for award of ASI H3 <strong>and</strong>:<br />

(1) Have successfully completed a U.S. Air Force Air Ground Operations<br />

School (AGOS) or<br />

(2) Have 12 months experience performing tactical operations duties.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with Branch 15 (Aviation ) AOC 152, 153,<br />

154, <strong>and</strong> 155 only.<br />

J Engineering Test Pilot (Eng Test Pilot) USAAVNC<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified as engineering test pilots.<br />

Pilot School (NTPS), Patuxent River, MD, <strong>and</strong> enter the <strong>Army</strong> Aviation<br />

Engineer Flight Test Program. Warrant officers awarded this SQI must<br />

maintain physical qualifications for flying duty <strong>and</strong> be rated in fixed <strong>and</strong><br />

rotary wing aircraft.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with aviator MOS only.<br />

K Polygraph Examiner (Polygraph Exam) USAMPS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers certified to conduct polygraph examinations<br />

per AR 195–6.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the 14-week Polygraph<br />

Examiner Training Course at the DoD Polygraph Institute, Fort McClellan,<br />

AL, <strong>and</strong> for MOS 311A per AR 195–6.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 311A <strong>and</strong> 351B only.<br />

L Maintenance Test Flight Evaluator USAAVNC<br />

(MTFE)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officer aviators qualified to perform all SQI G duties<br />

<strong>and</strong> functions, <strong>and</strong> to instruct <strong>and</strong> evaluate maintenance test pilots in<br />

the fundamentals of maintenance test flights, analyze test flight maneuvers,<br />

<strong>and</strong> administer maintenance test flight evaluations.<br />

b. Qualifications. Awarded to qualfied maintenance test pilots holding<br />

SQI G who successfully complete the oral <strong>and</strong> flight examination<br />

conducted by a Directorate of Evaluation <strong>and</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ardization (DOES)<br />

designated maintenance evaluator.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with Branch 15 (Aviation) AOC 152, 153,<br />

154, <strong>and</strong> 155 in grades W4 <strong>and</strong> W5 only.<br />

T Transition None<br />

a. Description of positions. There are no positions identified with<br />

SQI T.<br />

b. Qualifications. Awarded by HQDA Career Management Authority<br />

to warrant officers who begin either formal schooling or on-the-job<br />

training for qualification in the MOS to which SQI T is added. This includes<br />

crosstraining into an existing MOS <strong>and</strong> qualification training in<br />

an MOS designated to support acquisition of new weapons or equipment<br />

into the <strong>Army</strong> inventory. The MOS in which training is undertaken<br />

will be designated as the individual’s PMOS <strong>and</strong> SQI T will be<br />

removed upon satisfactory completion of a utilization tour as determined<br />

by the Career Management Authority shown in chapter 10.<br />

c. Restrictions. For identification of personnel only. For use with any<br />

MOS.<br />

W Technical Surveillance USAIC&FH<br />

(TSCM Tech)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers certified to supervise <strong>and</strong> conduct technical<br />

surveillance countermeasure operations.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the TSCM courseat Ft<br />

Devens, MA, <strong>and</strong> Ft Meade, MD; six to 18 months apprenticeship program;<br />

<strong>and</strong> the TSCM Certification Examination per AR 381–14.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 351B only.<br />

Z Research, Development, Test <strong>and</strong> Evalu- AAESA<br />

ation<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified in design, development, test, or<br />

evaulation of military materiel, doctrine, methods, systems, or organizations.<br />

b. Qualifications.<br />

(1) Branch 15 (Aviation). Must successfully complete the Material<br />

Acquisition Management (MAM) Course at the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Logistics<br />

Management College, Ft Lee, Va.<br />
