Used as fifth character of any MOS in recording the MOS when the<br />

position requires no special qualifications.<br />

b. Qualifications. Used as a fifth character in recording an individual’s<br />

primary MOS or additional MOS when no special qualifications are<br />

involved. If the same MOS code is later supplemented by award of another<br />

SQI, both codes will be retained as awarded MOS, but only one<br />

may be designated as the primary MOS.<br />

c. Restrictions. None.<br />

1 Marine Deck Officer (Marine Deck Off) USATCS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of marine operations or maintenance personnel licensed per AR<br />

56–9.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be certified <strong>and</strong> issued the appropriate license<br />

by the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Marine Safety Office, Ft Eustis, VA.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 880A <strong>and</strong> 881A only.<br />

2 Marine Engineering Officer (Marine Engr USATCS<br />

Off)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of marine operations or maintenance personnel licensed per AR<br />

56–9.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be certified <strong>and</strong> issued the appropriate license<br />

by the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Marine Safety Office, Ft Eustis, VA.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 880A <strong>and</strong> 881A only.<br />

5 Power Systems Technician (Power Sys USAES<br />

Tech)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to supervise operations <strong>and</strong> maintenance<br />

of high voltage power stations <strong>and</strong> transmission systems.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Prime Power Production<br />

Specialist Course at the USA Facilities Engineering Support<br />

Agency, Ft Belvoir, VA.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 210A only.<br />

7 Parachutist USAIS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers with a current parachutist rating. Positions will<br />

carry title of basic MOS.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must meet physical requirements for airborne per<br />

AR 40–501, <strong>and</strong> successfully complete airborne training per AR<br />

614–110.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with any MOS except 180A <strong>and</strong> 921A.<br />

8 Instructor (Instr) TRADOC<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions which require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified for full-time duty as instructors in military<br />

subjects at a service school or other training activity.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete an Instructor Training<br />

Course <strong>and</strong> be recommended by the school comm<strong>and</strong>ant.<br />

B Aviation Safety Officer (Avn Safety Off) USAAVNC<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to manage aviation unit safety programs.<br />

b. Qualifications. Awarded to warrant officers who are graduates of<br />

the Aviation Warrant Officer Advanced Course (AWOAC) <strong>and</strong>:<br />

(1) Possess an aeronautical designation <strong>and</strong> have successfully<br />

completed the United States <strong>Army</strong> Safety Center’s (USASC) Aviation<br />

Safety Officer (ASO) residence course; or<br />

(2) Possess an aeronautical designation <strong>and</strong> have successfully<br />

completed a combination of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Safety Center Accident<br />

Prevention <strong>and</strong> Naval Postgraduate School (NPGS) Aviation Safety<br />

Officer Courses.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with aviator MOS only. This skill will not be<br />

awarded as the result of OJT.<br />

C Instructor Pilot (Instr Pilot) USAAVNC<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to instruct student <strong>and</strong> rated personnel<br />

in fundamentals of flying, analyze flight training maneuvers, <strong>and</strong><br />

evaluate aviators per the Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) <strong>and</strong> AR<br />

95–1.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must have obtained Pilot in Comm<strong>and</strong> (PIC) status<br />

in the aircraft for which instructor pilot qualification is being sought<br />

<strong>and</strong>;<br />

(1) Successfully complete the appropriate Instructor Pilot Course(s)<br />

at the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Aviation School, Fort Rucker, AL, or<br />

(2) Successfully complete <strong>and</strong> Instructor Pilot equivalency evaluation<br />

administered by a St<strong>and</strong>ardization Instructor Pilot selected by<br />

HQDA.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with aviator MOS only.<br />

D Aeromedical Evacuation Pilot (Aeromed USAAVNC<br />

Evac Pilot)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified in the procedures <strong>and</strong> techniques of<br />

aeromedical evacuation.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be aviator qualified in an aircraft used for<br />

medical evacuation <strong>and</strong> successfully complete the <strong>Army</strong> Medical Service<br />

Aviator Course, or have equivalent documented experience.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with aviator MOS only.<br />

E Aircraft Armament Maintenance Techni- USAAVNC<br />

cian (Acft Armt Maint Tech)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require assignment<br />

of warrant officers qualified to supervise maintenance <strong>and</strong> repair<br />

of aircraft armament systems.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Aircraft Armament<br />

Maintenance Technician Course at the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Aviation Logistics<br />

School, Ft Eustis, VA.
