Chapter 14<br />

Special Reporting Codes <strong>and</strong> Duty Assignment<br />

14–1. College trainee (09D)<br />

This code (09D00) will be used to report <strong>and</strong> identify soldiers<br />

undergoing training in a college, university technical institute, or<br />

similar institution of higher learning.<br />

14–2. Commissioned officer c<strong>and</strong>idate (09S)<br />

This code (09S00) will be used as primary <strong>and</strong> duty MOS to report<br />

<strong>and</strong> identify soldiers undergoing training in an officer c<strong>and</strong>idate<br />

school, or similar training facility that upon successful completion<br />

will result in appointment as an officer. If such training does not<br />

result in appointment, the code will be withdrawn <strong>and</strong> previously<br />

designed PMOS will be reported, unless other reclassification per<br />

AR 600-200 is appropriate.<br />

14–3. Warrant officer c<strong>and</strong>idate (09W)<br />

This code (09W00) will be used as primary <strong>and</strong> duty MOS to report<br />

<strong>and</strong> identify soldiers specifically selected for or undergoing training<br />

in a warrant officer MOS producing course, or similar training that<br />

on completion will result in appointment as warrant officer. If such<br />

training does not result in appointment, the code will be withdrawn<br />

a n d p r e v i o u s l y d e s i g n a t e d P M O S w i l l b e r e p o r t e d u n l e s s o t h e r<br />

reclassification per AR 600-200 is appropriate.<br />

14–4. College student officer program (CSOP) <strong>Army</strong><br />

National Guard (09T) Reserve Components Reporting<br />

Code<br />

This code (09T00) will be used as primary <strong>and</strong> duty MOS to report<br />

<strong>and</strong> identify ARNG personnel attending non-ROTC colleges who<br />

have enlisted in the ARNG for the specific purpose of attending a<br />

State Officer C<strong>and</strong>idate School. This code will be withdrawn on<br />

successful completion of or withdrawal from the CSOP. This code<br />

is for use in identification of ARNG personnel only.<br />

14–5. Simultaneous Membership Program Participant<br />

(09R) Reserve Components Reporting Code<br />

This code (09R00) will be used as primary <strong>and</strong> duty MOS to report<br />

<strong>and</strong> identify USAR/ARNG individual while enrolled in ROTC Advanced<br />

Course or scheduled for such enrollment. The code will be<br />

withdrawn on successful completion of or withdrawal from the<br />

SMP. This code is for use in identification of USAR/ARNG personnel<br />

only.<br />

14–6. Special duty assignment (00D)<br />

a. This code (00DOO) will be used to identify approved special<br />

d u t y a s s i g n m e n t p o s i t i o n s i n o r g a n i z a t i o n a l a u t h o r i z a t i o n d o c u -<br />

ments, <strong>and</strong> to report the duty MOS for soldiers assigned to these<br />

positions. Authorization documents will not be identified with MOS<br />

00D prior to approval by HQDA, PERSCOM (TAPC-PI). Special<br />

duty positions must meet the following criteria:<br />

(1) Duties require unique civilian skills/education or componentunique<br />

experience not classified as an identifier elsewhere in this<br />

regulation.<br />

(2) Skills <strong>and</strong> knowledge cannot normally be acquired from other<br />

duty positions in other military organizations.<br />

(3) Service school course, resident or non-resident, are neither<br />

available nor practical for training personnel to perform the required<br />

duties.<br />

(4) Number of positions involved are too small to warrant establishment<br />

of a new MOS or other occupational identifier.<br />

b. Requests to identify positions with MOS 00D will be forwarded<br />

to the Comm<strong>and</strong>er, PERSCOM, ATTN: TAPC-PLC-C, 200<br />

Stovall Street, Alex<strong>and</strong>ria, VA 22332-0406, <strong>and</strong> will include the<br />

following information:<br />

(1) Unit identification code, comm<strong>and</strong> code <strong>and</strong> document number<br />

of authorization document in which position exists.<br />

(2) Paragraph <strong>and</strong> line number.<br />

(3) Pay grade.<br />

(4) Number of authorizations.<br />

(5) Job description, including—<br />

(a) Duties.<br />

(b) Minimum skills <strong>and</strong> knowledge required.<br />

(6) Summary of civilian education/training/experience required to<br />

successfully perform the job.<br />

(7) Explanation of why the job cannot be coded with an existing<br />

<strong>Army</strong> identifier.<br />

c. Approval will remain valid until mission changes occur or for<br />

3 years, whichever comes first. If the requirement remains valid for<br />

more than 3 years,justification must be resubmitted for HQDA review<br />

<strong>and</strong> approval.<br />

14–7. Equal opportunity (00U)<br />

This code (00UOO) will be used to identify soldiers in grades MSG
