b. Qualifications. Must be a graduate of the resident MOS 92G<br />

BNCOC at Ft Lee, VA, <strong>and</strong> serve successfully in an authorized Enlisted<br />

Aide position to a general officer for a period of 120 days.<br />

PERSCOM will initiate action for the award of the ASI if no unfavorable<br />

communication is received from the general officer within the<br />

120 day trial period. Technical certification is controlled by the<br />

USAQMC&S with award authority limited to PERSCOM. Must meet<br />

selection criteria contained in AR 614–200. PERSCOM retains the authority<br />

to remove the ASI from individuals who are relieved from the<br />

Enlisted Aide Program.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 92G only.<br />

Z6 Detector Dog H<strong>and</strong>ling USAMPS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified in the employment, training <strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>ling of patrol dogs capable<br />

of detecting explosives <strong>and</strong> narcotics of several types.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Patrol Dog H<strong>and</strong>ler<br />

Course (ASI A9) <strong>and</strong> the USAF Combined Detector Dog H<strong>and</strong>lers<br />

Course, Lackl<strong>and</strong> AFB, TX.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 95B only.<br />

Z8 Technical ELINT Collection <strong>and</strong> Anal- USAIC&FH<br />

ysis<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified to perform technical electronic collection <strong>and</strong> analysis.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must have successfully completed course EA<br />

280–Intermediate ELINT Collection <strong>and</strong> Analysis at NSA/NCS, Ft<br />

Meade, MD.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 98J in SL 2 <strong>and</strong> above only.<br />

13C who have successfully completed Advanced Field Artillery Tactical<br />

Chapter 13<br />

MOS, SQI <strong>and</strong> ASI not Available to Women Soldiers<br />

13–1. MOS, SQI <strong>and</strong> ASI closed to women<br />

The <strong>Army</strong> has recognized the high probability that soldiers classified<br />

in some MOS <strong>and</strong> SQI will routinely engage in direct combat.<br />

13–2. SQI “G” , Ranger; SQI “V” Ranger-Parachutis<br />

SQI “G” , Ranger; SQI “V” Ranger-Parachutist; <strong>and</strong> the MOS listed<br />

in table 13-1 are closed for accession or reclassification of female<br />

soldiers (see AR 611-1).<br />
