G4 Armored Gun System (AGS) Opera- USAARMS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifiespositions requiring soldiers qualified<br />

to operate <strong>and</strong> performoperator maintenance on the Armored<br />

Gun System (AGS).<br />

b. Qualifications. Must complete the AGS Crew Training (SL 1) or<br />

the AGS Comm<strong>and</strong>er Certification Course (SL 2 <strong>and</strong> above) taught at<br />

Ft Knox, KY. In addition, the ASI will be awarded by successfully completing<br />

New Equipment Training (NET) conducted under the auspices<br />

of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Armor School by the M1 NET team.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 19K only.<br />

G8 Master Gunnery (Armored Gun Sys- USAARMS<br />

tem,AGS)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified to assess status of AGS unit gunnery training <strong>and</strong> vehicle<br />

mounted weapons maintenance. Develops <strong>and</strong> conducts gunnery<br />

training programs for the AGS.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the AGS Master Gunner<br />

Course, Ft Knox, KY.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 19K <strong>and</strong> 19Z only.<br />

G9 Defense Against Sound Equipment USAIC&FH<br />

(DASE)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified in DASE to include specialized electronic equipment <strong>and</strong><br />

techniques used in detection <strong>and</strong> location of cl<strong>and</strong>estine listening devices.<br />

H1 Meteorological Equipment Mainte- USAFAS<br />

nance<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

trained in the maintenance of field artillery meteorological equipment.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Meteorological<br />

Equipment Repair Course, Ft Sill, OK.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 93F only.<br />

H3 Physical Security Operations USAMPS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified in the planning, coordinating <strong>and</strong> assessing of physical security<br />

systems designed to safeguard personnel <strong>and</strong> prevent unauthorized<br />

access to equipment, facilities, material, <strong>and</strong> documents;<br />

<strong>and</strong> to protect against espionage, sabotage, damage, <strong>and</strong> theft; conducting<br />

physical security surveys <strong>and</strong> inspections of all activities identified<br />

as mission essential, critical <strong>and</strong> vulnerable, <strong>and</strong> identifying <strong>and</strong><br />

recommending physical security requirements <strong>and</strong> considerations in<br />

support of the comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Conventional<br />

Physical Security Course, Ft McClellan, AL.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 95B <strong>and</strong> 95C only. Authorized<br />

only for skill levels 2 <strong>and</strong> above.<br />

H4 Specialized Software Development USASIGC<br />

Programmer<br />

a. Description of positions. There are no positions identified for Specialized<br />

Software Development Programmer. This ASI may only be<br />

used to identify personnel qualified in the analysis, design, testing,<br />

debugging, <strong>and</strong> documentation of software programs using one of the<br />

following programming languages: C, C+&plus, Ada, COBOL, or PAS-<br />

CAL.<br />

b. Qualifications.<br />

(1) Successfully complete one of the following:<br />

(a) A high level structured computer programming course in C, C++,<br />

Ada, COBOL, or PASCAL at the Computer Science School, U.S. <strong>Army</strong><br />

Signal Center <strong>and</strong> Ft Gordon, GA. Programming courses taught at the<br />

AIT level will not be considered.<br />

(b) A civilian or military functional programmers course in C, C++,<br />

Ada, COBOL, or PASCAL.<br />

(c) An associate or higher educational degree program in Computer<br />

Science, encompassing C, C++, Ada, COBOL, or PASCAL languages.<br />

(2) Possess six months on-site experience performing programmer<br />

duties in the language for which trained. Must be assigned to a Software<br />

Development Center (SDC) <strong>and</strong> actively working with one of the<br />

programming language listed above at the time of request for award of<br />

ASI.<br />

(3) Request for award of ASI must be submitted on DA Form 4187<br />

(Personnel Action), together with supporting documentation to the<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong>ant, U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Signal School, ATTN: ATZH-POE, Ft Gordon,<br />

GA 30905-5300 for approval. Supporting documentation must include<br />

the following:<br />

(a) Certificate of completion of training <strong>and</strong>/or college transcripts.<br />

(b) Course description of programming language for which trained.<br />

(c) Recommendation from supervisor (GSO9/WO1/CPT or above)<br />

<strong>and</strong> unit comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

(d) Job description of duties being performed.<br />

(4) U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Signal School will furnish individual with certification<br />

of eligibility for award of this ASI. Individual must then submit DA Form<br />

4187, Request for Personnel Action, together with certificate of eligibility,<br />

to the local Personnel Service Center requesting award of this ASI.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with personnel in MOS 74B only.<br />

H7 Petroleum Vehicle Operations USAQMS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />

qualified in the operation <strong>and</strong> operator maintenance of petroleum vehicles.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must successfully complete the Petroleum Vehicle<br />

Operator Course, Ft Dix, NJ.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with MOS 77F only.<br />

H8 Recovery Operations USAOCS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring soldiers<br />
