structure forces, <strong>and</strong> how to modernize, station <strong>and</strong> maintain units using<br />

the tenets of the <strong>Army</strong> Life Cycle Management Model.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must complete the Force Management Course at the<br />

<strong>Army</strong> Force Management School, Ft Belvoir, VA.<br />

c. Restrictions. None.<br />

Title: Unit Air Movements Officer<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions responsible for<br />

preparing/ensuring that units, to include their personnel <strong>and</strong> equipment,<br />

are capable of air deployment. Requires knowledge of loading <strong>and</strong><br />

securing unit vehicles, equipment, <strong>and</strong> supplies <strong>and</strong> movement of unit<br />

personnel on aircraft. Requires a working knowledge of air load<br />

planning, documentation <strong>and</strong> procedures necessary for the successful<br />

deployment of units world-wide <strong>and</strong> related strategic mobility missions.<br />

b. Qualifications. Must be a graduate of the Air Deployment Planning<br />

Course or have equivalent training, or experience.<br />

c. Restrictions. None.<br />

Title: NSA Junior Officer Cryptologic Career Program<br />

Proponent: USAIC&FH<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions requiring incumbents to<br />

possess in-depth knowledge of strategic signals intelligence collection<br />

<strong>and</strong> analysis processes. Duties include strategic signals intelligence<br />

operations <strong>and</strong> interface between strategic <strong>and</strong> tactical intelligence<br />

systems for officers assigned to Corps, Theater, <strong>and</strong> <strong>Army</strong> level units.<br />

b. Qualifications. Individuals must have successfully completed the<br />

three year National Security Agency Junior Officer Cryptologic Career<br />

Program.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with positions coded <strong>and</strong> officers classified in<br />

AOC 35G <strong>and</strong> for Aviation Intelligence Officers (AOC 15C) who possess<br />

AOC 35G. May only be withdrawn by HQDA upon recommendation of<br />

the CG, INSCOM. Positions of Comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>and</strong> S3 of U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Field<br />

Stations will be coded with this skill.<br />

Title: M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle/M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle<br />

Proponent: USAIS<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions which require an<br />

incumbent who possesses detailed knowledge in the operation of the<br />

M2/M3 Fighting Vehicle.<br />

b. Qualifications. Individuals must have successfully completed the M2/<br />

M3 Fighting Vehicle Comm<strong>and</strong>ers Course at Fort Benning or Fort Knox,<br />

or have successfully completed the New Equipment Training.<br />

c. Restrictions. For use with Armor <strong>and</strong> Infantry Branch AOCs only.<br />

Title: Space Activities<br />

Proponent: USA Space Comm<strong>and</strong><br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions that require the<br />

assignment of officers who can apply technical knowledge of either the<br />

space environment, space system composition <strong>and</strong> functioning, space<br />

related technologies, or civilian-military operations. Such positions<br />

require incumbents to formulate space policy, develop space related<br />

operational concepts, <strong>and</strong> evolve doctrine of law; to conduct research in,<br />

<strong>and</strong> development of technologies applied to the space environment,<br />

testing, <strong>and</strong> acquisition of space systems; or to plan, evaluate <strong>and</strong><br />

implement the tactics <strong>and</strong> techniques for the operation <strong>and</strong> use of space<br />

systems, including platform <strong>and</strong>/or payload control.<br />

b. Qualifications. Individuals must have 1 year of successful duty<br />

performance in a documented Space Activities (SI 3Y) position or<br />

successful completion of the Joint Space Fundamentals Course <strong>and</strong> 6<br />

months in a documented Space Activities (SI 3Y) position or successful<br />

completion of Undergraduate Space Training or a Bachelor of Science<br />

Degree in Aero Space Engineering, Aero Space Medicine, Robotics, or<br />

other space related technical fields or completion of the elective Space<br />

Activities portion of the CGSC.<br />

c. Restrictions. The addition or deletion of SI 3Y from authorization<br />

documents MTOE <strong>and</strong> TDA must be coordinated in writing <strong>and</strong> be<br />

approved by the Comm<strong>and</strong>er, U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Space Comm<strong>and</strong>, ATTN:<br />

MOSC-SP, 1670 N. Newport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80914-<br />

Infantry Mortar Platoon Course at Ft Benning, Georgia.<br />

Title: Operations Research/Systems Analysis<br />

Proponent: USATRAC<br />

a. Description of positions. Principal duties are related to a branch or<br />

functional area other than 49 <strong>and</strong> OR/SA training is applied as a<br />

secondary aspect of the job. Positions which require the following skills<br />

are appropriate for OR/SA skill coding:<br />

(1) Analytical Skills.<br />

(a) Experience with <strong>and</strong> ability to apply the "Scientific Method" to<br />

problem solving.<br />

(b) Deductive reasoning through basic statistical analysis <strong>and</strong><br />

hypothesis testing.<br />

(c) Basic experimental design <strong>and</strong> sampling techniques.<br />

(d) Basic computer programing.<br />

(2) Application of existing methodology to problem solving.<br />

(3) Exercise <strong>and</strong> update existing models.<br />

b. Qualifications. The OR/SA <strong>Military</strong> Development Skills Course is the<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ard entry level training for skill designation. In order to attend, an<br />

officer must have a bachelor’s degree.<br />

c. Restrictions. Can not be used with FA 49.<br />

Title: Branch Automation Officer<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies Systems Automation Officer<br />

positions in authorization documents which are aligned with a branch or<br />

functional are<br />

b. These positions support branch or functional area unique<br />

requirements for officers with automation skills <strong>and</strong> knowledg<br />

b. Qualifications. Automation knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills requirements may<br />

vary by position, but as a minimum individuals must have received credit<br />

established by the controlling branch.<br />

c. Restriction. Cannot be used with FA 53.<br />

Title: Postal<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions which are concerned<br />

with formulating policies for <strong>and</strong> directing the activities of units engaged<br />

in postal operations.<br />

b. Qualifications. Individuals must have completed the Postal<br />

Operations Course <strong>and</strong>/or the Postal Supervisors Course at the Adjutant<br />

General School, Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN or successfully completed one<br />

year in a postal assignment.<br />

c. Restrictions. This skill is to be used only with positions coded AOC 42<br />

E. It will only be awarded to Adjutant General’s Corps Branch Officers.<br />

Title: Artificial Intelligence<br />

Proponent: SAIS-AI (U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Artificial Intelligence Center)<br />

a. Description of positions. Identifies positions which require the<br />

individual to conceptualize, design <strong>and</strong> develop automated systems<br />

incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques or to perform ORSA<br />

analysis using AI to augment conventional analysis techniques. These<br />

positions require incumbents to choose among <strong>and</strong> apply an assortment<br />

of knowledge representation techniques such as declarative logic, rulebased<br />

systems, <strong>and</strong> object oriented data structures. Examples of<br />

analysis techniques include conventional tools such as linear
