Dental Corps, 63: Certification by a Board listed in SI 9C.<br />

Veterinary Corps, 64:<br />

(1) Certification by a recognized American Specialty Board.<br />

(2) Officers classified in a Medical Functional Area (MFA) for which<br />

there is no recognized American Specialty Board must possess SI 9C,<br />

have served in the specialty field while on active duty for not less than 10<br />

years, <strong>and</strong> be recognized by The Surgeon General as having achieved<br />

an appropriate level of professional ability.<br />

<strong>Army</strong> Medical Specialist Corps, 65: Officers classified in AOC 65A,<br />

65B, 65C, 65D who have continued to demonstrate professional<br />

excellence <strong>and</strong> good judgment, who have exhibited outst<strong>and</strong>ing ability in<br />

supervision, education, consultation <strong>and</strong>/or research <strong>and</strong> who have<br />

contributed to advancement in the field of specialty. Normally must have<br />

a bachelor’s degree with 14 years experience, a master’s degree with 10<br />

years experience or a PhD with 8 years of experience. Time spent in<br />

formal/long term training must be excluded when computing years of<br />

experience.<br />
