MSG 1. Principal satellite, technical control or microwave communication systems operations,<br />

planning or logistics NCO in:<br />

a. <strong>Army</strong> element of U.S. <strong>and</strong> non-U.S. joint, combined, unified or specified comm<strong>and</strong>s<br />

engaged in satellite or microwave communications.<br />

b. Separate operations elements of Major <strong>Army</strong> Comm<strong>and</strong>s (MACOM), U.S. <strong>Army</strong><br />

Field Operating Agencies (USAFOA) or the White House Communications Agency<br />

(WHCA).<br />

2. Subsequent positions graded SFC in appropriate MOS 31P/31S.<br />

MSG Perform staff functions requiring technical expertise in the area of satellite, technical<br />

control, <strong>and</strong>/or communications systems in:<br />

a. <strong>Army</strong> element of joint, combined, unified or specified comm<strong>and</strong>s engaged in satellite,<br />

technical control or microwave communications.<br />

b. Separate operations elements of MACOM, USAFOA or WHCA.<br />

7 FIRST SERGEANT 31T5M 1SG Principal NCO of:<br />

a. Defense Communications System (DCS) Operations company primarily engaged in<br />

strategic communications.<br />

b. Signal company primarily engaged in satellite communications.<br />

c. Student company at U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Signal Center <strong>and</strong> Fort Gordon primarily engaged<br />

in the training of microwave/satellite skills.<br />

(listed in AR 600–3) to support additional manpower grading requirements.<br />
