SFC Position required in S-3 section of divisional <strong>and</strong> regimental<br />

cavalry squadron, <strong>and</strong> brigade Hq to assist in the collection,<br />

evaluation, interpretation, <strong>and</strong> dissemination of combat information.<br />

Also assist in planning, organizing, directing, <strong>and</strong> supervising<br />

of training for the cavalry squadron. Positions may also be<br />

used in regimental Hq, <strong>and</strong> separate armor brigade Hq <strong>and</strong><br />

higher Hq. When possible this position should be filled with a<br />

CFV Master Gunner <strong>and</strong> identified with ASI J3. Use with ASI<br />

2S as appropriate.<br />

SFC Principal NCO in:<br />

a. Cavalry platoons of reconnaissance squadrons, heavy division<br />

cavalry squadrons <strong>and</strong> ACR cavalry squadrons.<br />

b. Tank Bns, Reconnaissance squadrons, division cavalry<br />

squadrons, light armor battalions <strong>and</strong> mechanized infantry battalions<br />

positions will be further identified with ASI F7.<br />

c. Where equipped with the CFV, the position will be further<br />

identified with ASI J3.<br />

3 When no grading guidance is provided by this table for coding TOE/MTOE, TRADOC MSCs <strong>and</strong> Non-TRADOC specified proponent (TOE Combat Developers) will coordinate<br />

with appropriate Branch Personnel Proponents (listed in AR 600-3) to support additional grading of manpower requirements.<br />
