SFC Position required in S-3 section of divisional and regimental
cavalry squadron, and brigade Hq to assist in the collection,
evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of combat information.
Also assist in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising
of training for the cavalry squadron. Positions may also be
used in regimental Hq, and separate armor brigade Hq and
higher Hq. When possible this position should be filled with a
CFV Master Gunner and identified with ASI J3. Use with ASI
2S as appropriate.
SFC Principal NCO in:
a. Cavalry platoons of reconnaissance squadrons, heavy division
cavalry squadrons and ACR cavalry squadrons.
b. Tank Bns, Reconnaissance squadrons, division cavalry
squadrons, light armor battalions and mechanized infantry battalions
positions will be further identified with ASI F7.
c. Where equipped with the CFV, the position will be further
identified with ASI J3.
