t. Child Psychiatrist (60U).<br />

(1) Description of duties. Provides diagnostic <strong>and</strong> treatment service<br />

to children <strong>and</strong> adolescents suffering from emotional or mental<br />

illness, mental retardation or situational maladjustment. Provides or<br />

supervises associated treatment or guidance to parents <strong>and</strong> families.<br />

(2) Special qualifications. Must have specialty training in this<br />

field at a level that is recognized by the OTSG.<br />

u. Neurologist (60V).<br />

(1) Description of duties. Examines, diagnoses, <strong>and</strong> treats <strong>and</strong><br />

directs management of patients suffering from organic disorders,<br />

injuries, <strong>and</strong> diseases of the central <strong>and</strong> peripheral nervous system.<br />

(2) Special qualifications. Must have specialty training in this<br />

course of therapy for adult diseases, with particular emphasis<br />

(a) Have a Doctor of Medicine Degree or a Doctor of Osteopathy<br />

Degree from a school acceptable to the Department of <strong>Army</strong> (DA).<br />

(b) Have adequate training or professional experience in this specialty<br />

in order to meet minimum requirements established by DA.<br />

Degree from a school acceptable to DA.<br />

(2) Special qualifications. Must have specialty training in this<br />

field at a level that is recognized by the OTSG.<br />

(a) Have a Doctor of Medicine Degree or a Doctor of Osteopathy<br />

Degree from a school acceptable to DA.<br />

(b) Have adequate training or professional experience in this specialty<br />

in order to meet minimum requirements established by DA.<br />

z. Rheumatologist (61D).<br />

field at a level that is recognized by the OTSG.<br />

Degree from a school acceptable to DA.<br />

(b) Have adequate training or professional experience in this specialty<br />

in order to meet minimum requirements established by DA.<br />

aa. Clinical Pharmacologist (61E).<br />

(1) Description of duties. Examines, diagnoses, <strong>and</strong> treats or recommends<br />

course of therapy for adults with particular emphasis on<br />

m a n a g e m e n t o f d r u g t h e r a p y , d r u g i n t e r a c t i o n s , a n d d i s o r d e r s<br />

caused or complicated by adverse reactions to drugs.<br />

(2) Special qualifications. Must have specialty training in this<br />

field at a level that is recognized by the OTSG.<br />

(a) Have a Doctor of Medicine Degree or a Doctor of Osteopathy<br />

ac. Infectious Disease Officer (61G).<br />

(1) Description of duties. Is generally responsible for diagnosis,<br />

laboratory confirmation, treatment, control <strong>and</strong>/or description of natural<br />

history <strong>and</strong> transmission kinetics of infectious diseases.<br />

(2) Special qualifications. Must have specialty training in this<br />

field at a level that is recognized by the OTSG.<br />

(a) Have a Doctor of Medicine Degree or a Doctor of Osteopathy<br />

Degree from a school acceptable to DA.<br />

(b) Have adequate training or professional experience in this specialty<br />

in order to meet minimum requirements established by DA.<br />

(3) Special grading of positions. The Infectious Disease Officer<br />

position in the TAML will be graded MAJ.<br />

ad. Family Physician (61H).<br />

(1) Description of duties. Provides comprehensive care to patients<br />

at each echelon of the health service support system: Cares for<br />

85 percent of patients with problems in areas such as general medicine,<br />

gynecology, obstetrics, psychiatry, preventive medicine, pedia<br />

t r i c s , a n d o r t h o p e d i c s i n b o t h i n p a t i e n t a n d o u t p a t i e n t<br />

environments; can augment the capabilities of the surgical specialties<br />

through triage, stabilization, <strong>and</strong> surgical assistance, as well as<br />

pre- <strong>and</strong> post-operative care.
