(10) Never been a member of the U.S. Peace Corps except as<br />

specified in AR 614-200, chapter 1.<br />

(11) Must possess the required skills in the English language by<br />

obtaining a minimum score of 80 in reading <strong>and</strong> listening on the<br />

E n g l i s h C o m p r e h e n s i o n L e v e l T e s t ( E C L T 7 2 0 0 0 L o r i t s<br />

replacement).<br />

(12) Complete m<strong>and</strong>atory formal training or meet the civilian<br />

acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210 <strong>and</strong>/or NGR 600-200.<br />

(13) Must be a U.S. citizen.<br />

(14) No record of conviction by court-martial.<br />

(15) No record of conviction by a civil court for any offense<br />

other than minor traffic violation.<br />

c. Physical requirements <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade. Physical requirements<br />

<strong>and</strong> SG relating to each skill level are listed in the<br />

following tables:<br />

(1) Table 10-97L-1. Physical requirements.<br />

(2) Table 10-97L-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

10–279. 97Z-Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence<br />

Senior Sergeant (CI/HUMINT Sr Sgt), CMF 96<br />

a. Major duties. The counterintelligence/human intelligence senior<br />

sergeant supervises the collection, processing, development, <strong>and</strong><br />

d i s s e m i n a t i o n o f c o u n t e r i n t e l l i g e n c e , c o u n t e r - s i g n a l s i n t e l l i g e n c e ,<br />

<strong>and</strong> human intelligence information. Supervises the multidiscipline<br />

counterintelligence activities at group, corps, <strong>Army</strong>, or comparable<br />

<strong>and</strong> higher headquarters. Coordinates operating requirements of subordinate<br />

units with major supported units. Assists in the appraisal of<br />

multidiscipline counterintelligence operations.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Counterintelligence/human intelligence senior sergeants must<br />

possess the following qualifications:<br />

(1) Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating—N/A.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222221.<br />

(3) Minimum score in aptitude area—N/A.<br />

(4) A security clearance of TOP SECRET with eligibility for<br />

access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).<br />

(5) A U.S. citizen.<br />

( a ) M e m b e r s o f i m m e d i a t e f a m i l y ( s p o u s e , p a r e n t s , b r o t h e r s ,<br />

sisters, <strong>and</strong> children) must also be U.S. citizens. Soldier <strong>and</strong> immediate<br />

family members can be naturalized citizens. If naturalized,<br />

there is nor residency requirement.<br />

(b) Soldier <strong>and</strong> spouse must not have immediate family members<br />

who reside in a country within whose boundaries physical or mental<br />

coercion is known to be common practice, either against-<br />

1. Persons accused of or acting in the interest of the U.S. or<br />

2. The relatives of such persons to whom they may reasonably be<br />

considered to be bound by ties of affection, kinship, or obligation.<br />

Near relatives will also include uncles, aunts, gr<strong>and</strong>parents, fatherin-law,<br />

mother-in-law, <strong>and</strong> relationships corresponding to any of the<br />

above persons in loco parentis (AR 630-5, para 6-2b).<br />

c. Additional skill identifiers.<br />

(1) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

(2) 2S—Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 <strong>and</strong> above).<br />

(3) 4A—Reclassification Training.<br />

d. Physical requirements <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade. Physical requirements<br />

<strong>and</strong> SG relating to each skill level are listed in the<br />

10–280. 98C-Signals Intelligence Analyst (SIGINT Analyst)<br />

CMF 98<br />

a. Major duties. The signals intelligence analyst supervises <strong>and</strong><br />

performs analysis <strong>and</strong> reporting of intercepted foreign communications<br />

at corps, division <strong>and</strong> echelon above corps (EAC). Performs<br />

collection management. Produces combat, strategic, <strong>and</strong> tactical intelligence<br />

reports. Duties for MOS 98C at each skill level are:<br />

(1) MOSC 98C1O. Gathers, sorts, <strong>and</strong> scans intercepted messages<br />

to isolate valid message traffic. Performs initial analysis to establish<br />

target identification <strong>and</strong> communications patterns. Operates automated<br />

data processing (ADP) equipment. Maintains analytical working<br />

aids to support target collection, identification, <strong>and</strong> location.<br />

Operates communications equipment for SIGINT collection, processing<br />

<strong>and</strong> reporting.<br />

(2) MOSC 98C2O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Performs intermediate<br />

analysis of intercepted communications. Prepares technical <strong>and</strong><br />

tactical intelligence reports. Performs fusion analysis of SIGINT<br />

products. Assists in the collection management process.<br />

(3) MOSC 98C3O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Writes, edits, evaluates,<br />

<strong>and</strong> publishes SIGINT reports. Coordinates with collection<br />

m a n a g e m e n t a c t i v i t y t o r e c e i v e a n d p l a n t a s k i n g s . I m p l e m e n t s<br />

SIGINT emergency action plans. Performs advance analysis on intercepted<br />

communications. Supervises fusion analysis of SIGINT<br />

products.<br />

(4) MOSC 98C4O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Analyzes <strong>and</strong> evalua<br />

t e s i n t e l l i g e n c e d a t a a n d r e l e a s e s S I G I N T r e p o r t s . S u p e r v i s e s<br />

processing, analysis, <strong>and</strong> reporting functions. Briefs analytical mission<br />

status. Quality controls intelligence products. Supervises collect<br />

i o n m a n a g e m e n t o f s u p p o r t e d c o m m a n d s a n d o t h e r a g e n c i e s .<br />

Provides guidance on the interpretation of SIGINT information <strong>and</strong><br />

the employment of collection systems.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

M O S . S i g n a l s i n t e l l i g e n c e a n a l y s t s m u s t p o s s e s s t h e f o l l o w i n g<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of moderately heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222221.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A qualifying score on the <strong>Army</strong> Analysis Aptitude Test.<br />

(5) A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area ST.<br />

(6) The soldier must meet TOP SECRET security clearance <strong>and</strong><br />

S e n s i t i v e C o m p a r t m e n t e d I n f o r m a t i o n ( S C I ) a c c e s s e l i g i b i l i t y<br />

requirements.<br />

(7) A high school graduate or equivalent.<br />

(8) Never been a member of the U.S. Peace Corps, except as<br />

specified in AR 614-200, chapter 1.<br />

(9) No information in military personnel, Provost Marshall, intelligence,<br />

or medical records which would prevent the granting of a<br />

security clearance under AR 380-67.<br />

(10) No record of conviction by court-martial.<br />

(11) No record of conviction by civil court for any offense other<br />

than minor traffic violations.<br />

(12) The soldier must be a U.S. citizen.<br />

(13) Soldier <strong>and</strong> spouse must not have immediate family members<br />

who reside in a country within whose boundaries physical or<br />

mental coercion is known to be a common practice, either against-<br />

(a) Persons accused of or acting in the interest of the U.S.<br />

(b) The relatives of such persons to whom they may reasonably<br />

be considered to be bound by ties of affection, kinship, or obligation.<br />

(14) Have neither commercial nor vested interest in a country<br />

within whose boundaries physical or mental coercion is known to be<br />

a common practice against persons acting in the interest of the U.S.<br />

This requirement applies to the soldier’s spouse as well.<br />

(15) Meet career management <strong>and</strong> development criteria contained<br />

in AR 600-200, AR 614-200, <strong>and</strong> DA Pam 351-4.<br />

(16) Formal training (completion of MOS 98C course under the<br />

auspices of the USAICS) m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

(17) Be advised that due to the nature of training <strong>and</strong> assignments,<br />

temporary restrictions may be placed on foreign travel both<br />

during <strong>and</strong> after the term of service.<br />
