reports. Supervises analysis of Battle Damage Assessment <strong>and</strong> Order<br />

of Battle activity. Maintains imagery requirements database.<br />

level <strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Supervises activities<br />

pertaining to the organization, training <strong>and</strong> operations. Assists<br />

in the implementation of imagery collection plan. Coordinates<br />

operating requirements of subordinate units for surveillance reconnaissance<br />

missions.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Imagery analysts must possess the following qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of medium.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222211.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

( 4 ) N e a r v i s i o n c o r r e c t a b l e t o a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 4 / 1 4 ( i n c h e s )<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ard Snellen, distance vision correctable to 20/20 (inches) st<strong>and</strong>a<br />

r d S n e l l e n a n d n o r m a l s t e r e o s c o p i c a c u i t y , w i t h o r w i t h o u t<br />

correction.<br />

(5) Never been a member of the U.S. Peace Corps, except as<br />

specified in AR 614-200, chapter 1.<br />

(6) No information in military personnel, Provost Marshal, intelligence,<br />

or medical record which would prevent the granting of a<br />

security clearance under AR 380-67.<br />

(7) A minimum score of 95 in aptitude area ST.<br />

(8) The soldier must meet TOP SECRET security clearance <strong>and</strong><br />

S e n s i t i v e C o m p a r t m e n t e d I n f o r m a t i o n ( S C I ) a c c e s s e l i g i b i l i t y<br />

requirements.<br />

(9) The soldier must be a U.S. citizen.<br />

( a ) M e m b e r s o f i m m e d i a t e f a m i l y ( s p o u s e , p a r e n t s , b r o t h e r s ,<br />

sisters, <strong>and</strong> children) must also be U.S. citizens. Soldier <strong>and</strong> immediate<br />

family members can be naturalized citizens. If naturalized,<br />

there is no minimum residency requirements.<br />

(b) Soldier <strong>and</strong> spouse must not have immediate family members<br />

who reside in a country within whose boundaries physical or mental<br />

coercion is known to be common practice, either against—<br />

1.. ersons accused of or acting in the interest of United States or<br />

2.. he relatives of such persons to whom they may be reasonably<br />

considered to be bound by ties of affection, kinship or obligation.<br />

Near relatives will also include uncles, aunts, gr<strong>and</strong>parents, fatherin-law,<br />

mother-in-law <strong>and</strong> relationships corresponding to any of the<br />

above persons inloco parentis (AR 630-5 <strong>and</strong> 37 USC 501).<br />

(10) Meet career management <strong>and</strong> development criteria contained<br />

in AR 614-200, AR 600-200.<br />

(11) Successfully completed (<strong>and</strong> be able to show proof of credit<br />

by official copy of transcript) 1 year of high school algebra or<br />

geometry.<br />

(12) A high school graduate or equivalent.<br />

(13) Formal training (completion of MOS 96D course under the<br />

auspices of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Intelligence Center) m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

(14) Have neither commercial nor vested interest in a country<br />

within whose boundaries physical or mental coercion is known to be<br />

a common practice against persons acting in the interest of the U.S.<br />

This requirement applies to the soldier’s spouse as well.<br />

(15) No record of conviction by court-martial.<br />

(16) No record of conviction by a civil court for any offense<br />

other than minor traffic violations.<br />

(17) Be advised that due to the nature of training <strong>and</strong> assignments,<br />

temporary restrictions may be place on foreign travel both<br />

during <strong>and</strong> after the term of service.<br />

(1) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

(2) S9—Defense Sensor Interpretation <strong>and</strong> Application Training<br />

Program (DSIATP).<br />

(5) 2T-TENCAP Data Analyst.<br />

10–271. 96H—Imagery Ground Station (IGS) Operator (IGS<br />

Operator), CMF 96<br />

a. Major duties. The imagery ground station operator supervises<br />

or participates in detecting, locating <strong>and</strong> tracking ground targets <strong>and</strong><br />

rotary wing <strong>and</strong> slow moving fixed wing aircraft. The GSA receives<br />

Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) near-realtime<br />

radar imagery data, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imagery,<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong>er’s Tactical Terminal/Joint Tactical Terminal (CTT/JTT)<br />

Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) data, <strong>and</strong> Secondary Imagery Dissemi<br />

n a t i o n ( S I D S ) p r o d u c t s w h i c h a r e t r a n s m i t t e d t o t h e C o m m o n<br />

Ground Station (CGS) to provide situational development, battle<br />

management, <strong>and</strong> targeting information <strong>and</strong> imagery intelligence of<br />

value to the comm<strong>and</strong>er. Duties for the MOS 96H at each level of<br />

skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 96H1O. Participates in pre-mission planning for aerial<br />

surveillance <strong>and</strong> reconnaissance missions. Deploys <strong>and</strong> reploys the<br />

IGS in a tactical environment. Operates the data systems <strong>and</strong> communication<br />

equipment organic to the IGS. Analyzes JSTARS nearreal-time<br />

radar imagery data, SIGINT data <strong>and</strong> SIDS products received<br />

via the CTT/JTT. Analyzes softcopy imagery, to include<br />

infrared <strong>and</strong> electro-optics received from UAV platforms. Assists in<br />

the development of Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB)<br />

products in support of IGS mission planning. Prepares JSTARS<br />

imagery analysis reports. Performs maintenance on the prime mover<br />

<strong>and</strong> the IGS mission equipment.<br />

2. MOSC 96H2O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Supervises IGS shift<br />

operations. Performs reconnaissance <strong>and</strong> IGS site selection. Performs<br />

IPB in support of IGS mission planning. Participates in premission<br />

planning for aerial surveillance <strong>and</strong> reconnaissance missions.<br />

Prepares <strong>and</strong> disseminates JSTARS imagery analysis reports.<br />

level <strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Supervises IGS<br />

operations <strong>and</strong> maintenance of related equipment. Oversees the analysis<br />

of JSTARS imagery, CTT/JTT information <strong>and</strong> UAV imagery.<br />

Supervises development <strong>and</strong> dissemination of intelligence products.<br />

JSTARS operations <strong>and</strong> activities. Incorporates the IGS mission into<br />

the overall collection plan. Assists in planning <strong>and</strong> using IGS <strong>and</strong><br />

o t h e r s u r v e i l l a n c e r e s o u r c e s . I n s t r u c t s s u b o r d i n a t e s i n p r o p e r<br />

softcopy imagery analysis techniques <strong>and</strong> procedures. Advises the<br />

G2/G3/FSO on compilation of IGS tasks <strong>and</strong> requirements.<br />

(5) MOSC 96H5O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill <strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Plans, coordinates,<br />

supervises <strong>and</strong> participates in activities pertaining to organization,<br />

training, operations, <strong>and</strong> intelligence of JSTARS units.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. IGS operators must possess the following qualifications.<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of moderately heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222111.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />
