Proofreads typed documents against source documents. Assembles final product for review, authentication, or other disposition. Prepares registered or certified mail for dispatch. Opens, sorts, routes, and delivers incoming correspondence and messages. Prepares suspense control documents and maintain suspense files. Signs receipt for, and picks up registered and certified mail. Dates and dispatches outgoing correspondence and messages. Prepares and maintains functional files per MARKS. Receives publications, establishes and maintains publications library. Requisitions and stocks blank forms. (2) MOSC 71L2O. Performs typing and clerical duties shown at preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance on administrative matters to typists and clerical personnel. Proofreads correspondence for format, content, and use of authorized abbreviations. Answers inquiries from staff and advises personnel on administrative and clerical matters. Duties for MOS 71M at each level of skill are: (1) MOSC 71M1O. Performs religious support duties for Unit Ministry Team (UMT) programs, worship services and crisis intervention. Performs UMT functions in field and combat environment. Performs combat lifesaver tasks. Applies communication skills in crisis and potential suicide intervention. Supports the UMT family readiness program. Coordinates UMT activities and maintains physic a l s e c u r i t y o f U M T f a c i l i t i e s / e q u i p m e n t . S a f e g u a r d s p r i v i l e g e d communications and offerings. Arranges religious retreats and memorial ceremonies. Receives, screens and refers visitors and prospective counselee. Performs office administration functions using automated systems to include inventorying supplies and equipment and determining supply requirements. Maintains chaplain vestments and religious items. (2) MOSC 71M2O. Performs religious support duties in first level battle fatigue care. Provides for emergency ministrations on the battlefield. Prepares UMT section input to staff estimates, operation plans and orders. Implements specified elements of the Religious Support Plan (RSP) and Command Master Religious Plan (CMRP). C o o r d i n a t e s r i t e s , s a c r a m e n t s , o r d i n a n c e s , a n d t h e U M T f a m i l y readiness program. Organizes support for UMT programs, worship and small group training sessions. Conducts training on indigenous religious, cultural distinctions, and customs. Plans and coordinates general religious support to joint, specified, and unified commands. Develops UMT Mission Essential Task List. Provides guidance on world religions and cultural distinctions and customs. Prepares installation/command religious program support plan. Prepares and evaluates implementation of CMRP.Ad v i s e s c o m m a n d c h a p l a i n o n r e l i g i o u s a n d m o r a l i s s u e s o f command. b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS. Chaplain assistant must possess the following qualifications: (1) A physical demands rating of moderately heavy. (2) A physical profile of 222221. (3) A minimum score of 95 in aptitude area CL. (4) The ability to type at a minimum speed of 20 net words per minute. (5) Must have favorable ENTNAC prior to award of MOS 71M. (6) Volunteer and agree to provide religious support for all religions supported by the command. (7) Is a combatant and will participate in firearms training and bear arms. (8) Must display high moral character as determined by the following criteria: (a) No pattern of undesirable behavior as evidenced by civil and military records. (b) No record of convictions by court martial. (c) No record of civilian conviction within the last two years other than minor traffic offenses. (9) A valid state motor vehicle operator’s permit (not due to expire prior to completion of AIT). (10) Formal training (completion of MOS 71M course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Chaplain Center and School (USACHCS)) is mandatory. Reserve component soldiers with prior s e r v i c e m a y q u a l i f y b y c o m p l e t i o n o f e i t h e r t h e c o u r s e a t USACHCS or complete both the Annual Training/Active Duty for Training and the Inactive Duty Training phase of MOS 71M Reserve Component Training. c.
