in this MOS as a high risk.<br />

(b) Except as provided in (e) below, a wrongful or improper use<br />

of narcotic or other controlled substance or dangerous drug as defined<br />

by 21 USC 801, et seq, is disqualifying.<br />

(c) A positive result of urine test administered per AR 600-85<br />

that leads to medical evaluation <strong>and</strong> a finding of “no diagnosis<br />

apparent, improper use” is disqualifying.<br />

(d) Except as provided in (e) below, a documented instance of<br />

the use, sale, transfer, possession, or manufacture of any narcotic or<br />

other controlled substance or dangerous drug as defined by 21 USC<br />

801, et seq, is disqualifying. A documented instance includes conviction<br />

by any courts martial or any civilian court. Convictions<br />

include juvenile adjudication, non judicial punishment under Article<br />

15, UCMJ, or voluntary confession after proper rights according to<br />

Article 31(b), UCMJ.<br />

(e) A soldier or potential enlistee will not be disqualified for<br />

t e e n a g e c i v i l i a n e x p e r i m e n t a t i o n w i t h m a r i j u a n a o r o t h e r c a n -<br />

nabinoids disclosed in voluntary confessions of drug experimentation<br />

documented solely by information obtained from DD Form<br />

1966, SF 88 or SF 93. (Experimentation is defined as one time use<br />

or casual use over a short period of time resulting from peer pressure.)<br />

The use disclosed must have occurred prior to the individual’s<br />

18th birthday, <strong>and</strong> prior to enlistment in any armed force.<br />

c. Additional skill identifiers.<br />

(1) A2—Aviation Safety.<br />

(2) N2—Nondestructive Test Equipment.<br />

(3) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

(4) 2S—Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 <strong>and</strong> above).<br />

(5) 4A—Reclassification Training.<br />

d. Physical requirements <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade. Physical requirements<br />

<strong>and</strong> SG relating to each skill level are listed in the<br />

following tables:<br />

(1) Table 10-68D-1. Physical requirements.<br />

(2) Table 10-68D-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

10–190. 68F—Aircraft Electrician (Acft Elec), CMF 67<br />

a. Major duties. The aircraft electrician supervises, inspects <strong>and</strong><br />

performs aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM) <strong>and</strong> depot<br />

e l e c t r i c a l m a i n t e n a n c e o n a i r c r a f t e l e c t r i c a l s y s t e m s . D u t i e s f o r<br />

MOS 68F at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 68F1O. Diagnoses <strong>and</strong> troubleshoots malfunctions in<br />

electrical <strong>and</strong> electronic components, including solid state <strong>and</strong> transistorized<br />

subsystems. Repairs aircraft instrument systems. Applies<br />

principles of electricity/electronics, hydrostatic motion, pneumatics<br />

<strong>and</strong> hydraulics applicable to repair aircraft instrument systems. Removes,<br />

installs, repairs, adjusts <strong>and</strong> tests electrical/electronic elem<br />

e n t s o f a s s e m b l i e s a n d c o m p o n e n t s a c c o r d i n g t o t e c h n i c a l<br />

manuals, directives <strong>and</strong> safety procedures. Cleans, preserves, <strong>and</strong><br />

stores electrical/electronic components <strong>and</strong> aircraft instruments. Remove,<br />

repair, services, installs, <strong>and</strong> troubleshoots nickel-cadmium<br />

batteries. Uses <strong>and</strong> performs operator maintenance on common <strong>and</strong><br />

special tools. Requisitions <strong>and</strong> maintains shop <strong>and</strong> bench stock for<br />

repair of aircraft electrical systems. Prepares forms <strong>and</strong> records<br />

related to aircraft maintenance.<br />

(2) MOSC 68F2O. Performs duties described in paragraph (1)<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Participates<br />

in maintenance test flights as required.<br />

(3) MOSC 68F3O. Supervises <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to<br />

subordinate personnel performing aircraft electrical <strong>and</strong> instrument<br />

system maintenance. Evaluates maintenance operations <strong>and</strong> facilities<br />

for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work st<strong>and</strong>ards,<br />

safety procedures, <strong>and</strong> operational policies. Performs maintenance<br />

trend analysis <strong>and</strong> applies production control, quality control <strong>and</strong><br />

other maintenance management principles <strong>and</strong> procedures to aircraft<br />

electrical <strong>and</strong> instrument system maintenance, <strong>and</strong> shop operations.<br />

Instructs personnel <strong>and</strong> conducts technical training in aircraft electrical<br />

<strong>and</strong> instrument system maintenance, supply <strong>and</strong> safety techn<br />

i q u e s . E v a l u a t e s t h e t e c h n i c a l t r a i n i n g p r o g r a m . M o n i t o r s<br />

requisition of parts, tools, <strong>and</strong> supplies.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Aircraft electricians (MOS 68F) must be in grade specialist<br />

(E4) (non-promotable) or below unless they have held a CMF 67<br />

MOS for a minimum of 12 months at skill level 1 or 2, 18 months<br />

at skill level 3 or 24 months at skill level 4. Waivers <strong>and</strong>/or exceptions<br />

must be approved by Cdr, USAAVNC, ATTN: ATZO-AP, Ft<br />

Rucker, AL 36363-5000.<br />

(1) Aircraft electricians must possess the following additional<br />

qualifications:<br />

(a) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(b) A physical profile of 222222.<br />

(c) Normal color vision.<br />

(d) A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area MM.<br />

(e) Formal training (completion of a resident MOS 68F course<br />

conducted under the auspices of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Aviation School)<br />

m a n d a t o r y o r m e e t t h e A C A S P c r i t e r i a l i s t e d i n A R 6 0 1 - 2 1 0 .<br />

Waiver for formal training or ACASP criteria must be submitted to<br />

Cdr, USAAVNC, ATTN: ATZQ-AP, Ft Rucker, AL 36362 for<br />

approval.<br />

(2) Alcohol <strong>and</strong> drug abuse as defined below will disqualify any<br />

soldier or potential enlistee from this MOS. This disqualification<br />

will not be waived, even though the soldier/potential enlistee satisfactorily<br />

completes the <strong>Army</strong> Alcohol or Drug Abuse Rehabilitation<br />

Program or a civilianequivalent, except as specified below:<br />

(a) A medically diagnosed history of alcohol abuse as defined in<br />

the substance use disorder section of the Diagnostic <strong>and</strong> Statistical<br />

Manual III, 3rd Edition, 1980 (DSM III) is disqualifying. Cdr,<br />

PERSCOM may waive this disqualification after a soldier/potential<br />

enlistee in this MOS successfully completes the <strong>Army</strong> Alcohol <strong>and</strong><br />

Drug Abuse Prevention <strong>and</strong> Control Program (ADAPCP) Track I, II<br />

or III, or its civilian equivalent, based on the recommendations of<br />

the chain of comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> the Cdr, USA Aeromedical Center. A<br />

soldier/potential enlistee who completes any aspect of the ADAPCP<br />

program <strong>and</strong> is involved in an additional offense involving alcohol<br />

or alcohol abuse will be immediately reclassified or denied enlistment<br />

in this MOS as a high risk.<br />

(b) Except as provided in (e) below, a wrongful or improper use<br />

of narcotic or other controlled substance or dangerous drug as defined<br />

by 21 USC 801, et seq, is disqualifying.<br />
