M1 tanks <strong>and</strong> M1 vehicle configurations, including automotive, turret,<br />

fire control, <strong>and</strong> chemical protection systems. Duties for MOS<br />

63E at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 63E1O. Maintains hydraulic brake systems, air/hydraulic<br />

brake systems, mechanical brake systems, track vehicle suspension<br />

systems, wheel vehicle suspension systems, vehicle hub/<br />

wheel assemblies, mechanical/hydraulic steering systems, wheel vehicle<br />

crane/hoist/winch assemblies, track vehicle hydraulic systems,<br />

auxiliary power units, wheeled vehicle winch assemblies, fire extinguisher/suppression<br />

systems, <strong>and</strong> gas particulate systems.<br />

(2) MOSC 63E2O. Perform duties in preceding skill level, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties.<br />

(3) MOSC 63E3O. Perform duties in preceding skill levels, perform<br />

M1 ABRAMS tank turret mechanic (MOS 45E) duties, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervises maintenance<br />

of cannon assemblies, cannon assemblies, cannon recoil ass<br />

e m b l i e s , t r a v e r s i n g s y s t e m s , e l e v a t i n g s y s t e m s , s t a b i l i z a t i o n<br />

systems, electrical power distribution systems, electrical firing systems,<br />

hydraulic systems, sighting <strong>and</strong> fire control systems, exterior/<br />

i n t e r i o r / a r m a m e n t / a u t o m o t i v e a c c e s s o r i e s , c u p o l a / c o m m a n d e r ’ s<br />

weapon station/hatch systems, NBC system, fuel systems, turbine<br />

engines, gasoline <strong>and</strong> diesel engines, cooling systems, transmissions/<br />

transfers, brake systems, suspension systems, steering systems, fire<br />

e x t i n g u i s h e r / s u p p r e s s i o n s y s t e m s , a n d f i n a l d r i v e s . I n s p e c t s a n d<br />

troubleshoots M113 series vehicle automotive systems, recovery vehicle<br />

(M88A1) automotive systems, light wheeled vehicle automotive<br />

systems. Performs battlefield damage assessment <strong>and</strong> repair<br />

(BDAR) of track/wheel vehicle armament/automotive systems.<br />

(4) MOSC 63E4O. Perform duties in preceding skill levels, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervises the inspection<br />

<strong>and</strong> troubleshooting of M113 series vehicles automotive<br />

s y s t e m s . R e c o v e r y v e h i c l e ( M 8 8 A 1 ) a u t o m o t i v e s y s t e m s , l i g h t<br />

wheeled vehicle automotive systems, M1/M1A1 automotive/armament<br />

systems, <strong>and</strong> performs Battle Damage Assessment <strong>and</strong> Repair<br />

(BDAR) on track/wheel vehicle automotive/armament systems.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. M1 ABRAMS tank system mechanics must possess the following<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222222.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area MM.<br />

(5) Current equipment qualification record for all types of equipment<br />

maintained.<br />

(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 63E course conducted<br />

u n d e r t h e a u s p i c e s o f t h e U S A O r d n a n c e C e n t e r a n d S c h o o l )<br />

m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

10–169. 63G—Fuel <strong>and</strong> Electrical Systems Repairer (Fuel<br />

& Elec Sys Rep), CMF 63<br />

a. Major duties. The fuel electrical systems repairer performs<br />

direct support <strong>and</strong> general support (DS/GS) maintenance on fuel <strong>and</strong><br />

electrical systems of wheel <strong>and</strong> track vehicles, brake system components,<br />

<strong>and</strong> on internal combustion engines associated with power<br />

generation equipment or material h<strong>and</strong>ling equipment. Duties for<br />

MOS 63G at each skill level are:<br />

(1) MOSC 63G1O. Repairs the fuel supply pumps, fuel pumps<br />

(metering <strong>and</strong> injection), fuel injectors, governors, wiring harnesses,<br />

a l t e r n a t o r s / g e n e r a t o r s , s t a r t e r s , r e g u l a t o r s a n d e l e c t r i c a l c o n t r o l<br />

boxes, DC electrical motors, air brake system components, hydraulic<br />

brake system components, <strong>and</strong> personnel heaters.<br />

(2) MOSC 63G2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Fuel <strong>and</strong> electrical systems repairers must possess the following<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222232.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area MM.<br />

(5) A knowledge of construction, functions, <strong>and</strong> nomenclature of<br />

wheel <strong>and</strong> track vehicles <strong>and</strong> materials-h<strong>and</strong>ling equipment.<br />

(6) A knowledge of internal combustion engines.<br />

(7) Formal training (completion of MOS 63G course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the USA Ordnance Center <strong>and</strong> School) m<strong>and</strong>atory;<br />

or meet the civilian acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-<br />

210.<br />

CMF 63<br />

a. Major duties. The track vehicle repairer supervises <strong>and</strong> performs<br />

direct support <strong>and</strong> general support (DS/GS) maintenance on<br />

track vehicles; supervises maintenance on wheeled vehicles, material<br />

h<strong>and</strong>ling equipment (MHE), <strong>and</strong> chemical quartermaster equipm<br />

e n t ( l e s s o f f i c e m a c h i n e s ) ; a n d s u p e r v i s e s r e l a t e d a c t i v i t i e s<br />

including fuel <strong>and</strong> electrical system repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance. Duties<br />

for 63H at each skill level are:<br />

(1) MOSC 63H1O. Performs repair of gas turbine power plants/<br />

packs, diesel power plants/packs, compression ignition engine fuel<br />

systems, compression ignition air induction systems, vehicle air<br />

cooling systems, vehicle liquid cooling systems, track hull electrical<br />

s y s t e m s , a u t o m a t i c t r a n s m i s s i o n a s s e m b l i e s , t r a c k v e h i c l e c r o s s<br />

drive transmission assemblies, transfer assemblies, hydraulic brake<br />

systems, mechanical/hydraulic steering systems, track vehicle hyd<br />

r a u l i c a s s e m b l i e s , f i r e e x t i n g u i s h e r / s u p p r e s s i o n s y s t e m s . R e p a i r<br />

t r a c k v e h i c l e u s i n g b a t t l e f i e l d d a m a g e a s s e s s m e n t a n d r e p a i r<br />

(BDAR).<br />

(2) MOSC 63H2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties.<br />

(3) MOSC 63H3O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, perform<br />

<strong>and</strong> supervise fuel <strong>and</strong> electrical systems repairer (MOS 63G)<br />

duties, performs <strong>and</strong> supervises wheel vehicle repairer (MOS 63W)<br />

duties, supervises lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance<br />

to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervise<br />

<strong>and</strong> repair of fuel systems, fuel system components, electrical systems,<br />

electrical system components, turbine engines, diesel engines,<br />

cooling systems, transmissions, brake systems, steering systems, hydraulic<br />

systems, auxiliary drives, <strong>and</strong> personnel heaters. Inspects <strong>and</strong><br />

troubleshoots tracked vehicle automotive systems, wheel vehicles<br />

<strong>and</strong> classify equipment.<br />

(4) MOSC 63H4O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises<br />

lower grade soldiers <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to the<br />

soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervises the inspection<br />

<strong>and</strong> troubleshooting of tracked vehicle automotive systems<br />

<strong>and</strong> wheeled vehicles. Manages battlefield damage assessment <strong>and</strong><br />

repair.
