10–162. 62G—Quarrying Specialist, CMF 51
a. Major duties. The quarrying specialist supervises or operates
electric, pneumatic, and internal combustion powered machines used
in drilling, crushing, grading, and cleaning gravel and rock, or
detonates explosives to blast rock in quarries and at construction
sites. Duties for MOS 62G at each level of skill are:
(1) MOSC 62G1O. Operates rock drills under supervision. Assembles,
adjusts and operates crushing, screening, conveying, and
washing units. Assists in blasting operations. Assists in performance
of combat engineer missions.
(2) MOSC 62G2O. Directs the erection of rock processing equipment.
Determines screen sizes and crusher settings to produce aggregate
to specifications. Directs quarry rock excavation to produce
required sizes and tonnage of rock. Performs as blaster.
(3) MOSC 62G3O. Conducts and plans quarry reconnaissance
and plant layout. Supervises the setup and calibration of a rock
processing plant. Plans and supervises blasting operations. Superv

missions.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications of initial award of

(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222221.
(3) Normal color vision.
(4) A minimum score of 95 in aptitude area GM.
(5) MOS qualification may be attained by meeting the civilian
acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.

(2) 2S—Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).

(Conc & Asphalt Eq Op), CMF 51
a. Major duties. The concrete and asphalt equipment operator
supervises or operates all equipment used in concrete and asphalt
production and paving. Duties for MOS 62H at each level of skill
are:
(1) MOSC 62H1O. Produces concrete with concrete mobile mixer.
Assists in the erection and operation of asphalt producing plant.
Operates asphalt distributor, aggregate spreader and asphalt kettle.
Assists in operation of asphalt paving and surfacing equipment.
Assists in performance of combat engineer missions.
(2) MOSC 62H2O. Erects and operates asphalt plant for the production
of hot mix asphalt. Sets up and operates asphalt laydown
equipment to meet desired asphalt specifications.
(3) MOSC 62H3O. Directs employment of concrete mobile mixer.
Plans and directs layout and erection of asphalt plant. Supervises
production of hot mix asphalt. Directs asphalt laydown and rolling
operations. Directs combat engineering missions.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of
MOS. Concrete and asphalt equipment operators must possess the
following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222221.
(3) Red/green color discrimination.
(4) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area GM.
(5) Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator license.

(Gen Const Equip Op), CMF 51
a. Major duties. The general construction equipment operator operates
air compressors and special purpose construction machines
engaged in compaction, ditching, pumping and auguring. Duties for
MOS 62J at each level of skill are:
(1) MOSC 62J1O. Operates air compressors and related pneumatic
tools. Operates SEE and attachments, performing digging,
backfilling and loading operations. Operates self-propelled compaction
rollers during construction operations. Operates water distributor
during compaction and dust control operations. Operates earth
auger, rotary sweeper and tiller. Assists in performance of combat
engineer missions.
(2) MOSC 62J2O. Operates all general construction equipment.
Directs operational maintenance on assigned equipment.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of
MOS. General construction equipment operators must possess the
following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222221.
(3) Red/green color discrimination.
(4) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area GM.
(5) Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator license.
(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 62J course conducted
under auspices of U.S. Army Engineer School) mandatory, or meet
the civilian acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.

Equip Supv), CMF 51
a. Major duties. The construction equipment supervisor supervises
construction equipment, quarry, paving, and plant equipment
operations, and crew maintenance of equipment. Duties for MOS
62N at each level of skill are:
(1) MOSC 62N3O. Supervises employment and maintenance activities
related to lifting, general and heavy construction equipment
in support of construction operations. Estimates equipment and operator
requirements for specific jobs. Assists in supervision of unit
engaged in construction equipment operation. Organizes and directs
well drilling operations. Directs combat engineering missions.
(2) MOSC 62N4O. Devises network flow diagrams such as the
critical path method and coordinates work activities of supporting
units. Provides supervision over all engineer construction equipment
operations. Develops and executes a quality control plan. Plans and
organizes for combat engineering missions.
