documented solely by information obtained from DD Form
1966, SF 88 or SF 93. (Experimentation is defined as one time use
of casual use over a short period of time resulting from peer pressure.)
The use disclosed must have occurred prior to the individual’s
18th birthday, and prior to enlistment in any armed force.

10–119. 35W—Electronic Maintenance Chief (Elect Maint
Chief), CMF 35
a. Major duties. The electronics maintenance chief supervises,
monitors, and directs the electronics maintenance mission of the
U.S. Army, and oversees and performs direct and general support
(DS/GS) level maintenance of all Army standard electronics equipment,
systems, and associated devices, to include communications
security (COMSEC) and controlled cryptographic items (CCI) devices.
Duties for MOS 35W at each level of skill are:
(1) MOSC 35W4O. Develops and implements unit level electronic
maintenance programs. Develops and enforces policy and
procedures for facility management. Organizes work schedules and
instructs subordinate personnel in the technical maintenance of field
communications and electronics equipment and systems, and associated
devices. Ensures repair of COMSEC devices complies with
published security requirements. Provides advice and technical assistance
to commanders. Requests logistic support; assimilates and
prepares reports and maintenance statistics.
( 2 ) M O S C 3 5 W 5 O . I n t e r p r e t s A r m y m a i n t e n a n c e p o l i c y a n d
writes technical and operational procedures used in command electronic
maintenance operations. Serves as material management staff
noncommissioned officer in field and garrison electronic maintenance
operations. Inspects assigned electronic maintenance activities
for compliance with repair priorities, quality control, and shop practices.
Advises commander and staff on all aspects of electronic
maintenance operations.

10–120. 35Y—Integrated Family of Test Equipment (IFTE)
Operator and Maintainer (IFTE Opr/Maint), CMF 35
a. Major duties. The integrated family of test equipment (IFTE)
operator and maintainer operates, performs, and supervises unit,
direct support and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance on
the Base Shop Test Facility (BSTF), AN/TSM–191. Performs DS/
GS level electronic maintenance, adjustments, tests, fault isolation,
and repairs of supported system line replaceable units (LRU), shop
replaceable units (SRU), and test program sets (TPS). Operates and
performs preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on
assigned vehicles and power generators. Duties for MOS 35Y at
each level of skill are:
(1) MOSC 35Y1O. Performs march order and emplacement of the
BSTF, installs supported weapon system test program sets, initiates
unit under test (UUT) procedures, isolates UUT/BSTF printed circuit
board or component malfunctions, replaces defective parts/comp
o n e n t s a n d p e r f o r m s U U T / B S T F a l i g n m e n t s a n d a d j u s t m e n t s .
P e r f o r m s B S T F p r e v e n t i v e m a i n t e n a n c e c h e c k s a n d s e r v i c e s
(PMCS) and operational checks. Operates and performs PMCS on
assigned vehicles and power generators.
(2) MOSC 35Y2O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill level.
Supervises lower rank soldiers and provides technical guidance
to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Installs BSTF
equipment modifications, prepares maintenance and supply forms
and records, and provides technical assistance for corrective maintenance
procedures.
(3) MOSC 35Y3O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill levels.
Establishes workload and repair priorities. Recommends procedures
for receipt, storage, inspection, testing and repair of items.
Organizes and conducts on the job training (OJT) programs. Demonstrates
proper maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. Determines
faulty work practices. Prepares maintenance reports.

maintenance of IFTE systems and associated trainers and test equipment.
Supervises calibration of system associated electronic equipm
e n t . I m p l e m e n t s q u a l i t y c o n t r o l m e a s u r e s . P e r f o r m s a s
maintenance quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) inspector.
Performs initial and final type checkouts and inspection of
system items. Establishes and maintains maintenance records.
(5) MOSC 35Y5O. Performs duties shown in preceding levels of
skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in the
accomplishment of their duties. Plans, coordinates, and supervises
activities pertaining to training and technical operation of unit to
which assigned. Interprets and supervises execution of policies and
SOP, develops and reviews correspondence relating to support activities.
Provides liaison to supported staff and commands. Performs
principal noncommissioned officer duties associated with SQI. “M”
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of
MOS. IFTE operator and maintainer must possess the following
qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222221.
(3) Normal color vision.
(4) A qualifying score of 110 in aptitude area EL.
(5) A security clearance of SECRET.
(6) A U.S citizen.
(7) Formal training (completion of MOS 35Y Course conducted
under the auspices of the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile and Munitions
School) mandatory; or waiver may be granted by Commandant,
USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35897-6090.
