tolerances. Determines serviceability <strong>and</strong> disposition of GBS <strong>and</strong><br />

FIREFINDER Radar system assemblies, subassemblies, <strong>and</strong> parts.<br />

Performs initial, in-process, on- site technical, <strong>and</strong> quality control<br />

i n s p e c t i o n s . P r e p a r e s a n d m a i n t a i n s e q u i p m e n t l o g s , e q u i p m e n t<br />

modification <strong>and</strong> utilization records, exchange tags, <strong>and</strong> calibration<br />

data cards.<br />

(2) MOSC 35M2O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill<br />

level <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel.<br />

Provides technical assistance to supported units. Installs equipment<br />

modifications. Completes maintenance <strong>and</strong> supply forms. Performs<br />

initial <strong>and</strong> final checkout <strong>and</strong> inspection of designated system items,<br />

a s s e m b l i e s , a n d s u b a s s e m b l i e s . C a l i b r a t e s r a d a r , o r g a n i z a t i o n a l<br />

maintenance, <strong>and</strong> antenna alignment test sets.<br />

(3) MOSC 35M3O. Establishes workload <strong>and</strong> repair priorities.<br />

Recommends procedures for receipt, storage, inspection, testing, <strong>and</strong><br />

repair of GBS <strong>and</strong> FIREFINDER Radar system items. Determines<br />

faulty work practices <strong>and</strong> demonstrates proper maintenance <strong>and</strong><br />

troubleshooting techniques. Organizes <strong>and</strong> conducts OJT programs.<br />

I m p l e m e n t s q u a l i t y c o n t r o l m e a s u r e s . S u p e r v i s e s i n s p e c t i o n a n d<br />

maintenance team. Establishes <strong>and</strong> maintains maintenance records.<br />

Prepares maintenance reports.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

M O S . R a d a r r e p a i r e r m u s t p o s s e s s t h e f o l l o w i n g a d d i t i o n a l<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of medium.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222221.<br />

(8) Formal training (completion of MOS 35M Course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Ordnance Missile <strong>and</strong> Munitions<br />

School) m<strong>and</strong>atory; or waiver may be granted by Comm<strong>and</strong>ant,<br />

10–118. 35N—Wire Systems Equipment Repairer (Wire<br />

Sys Equip Rep), CMF 35<br />

a. Major duties. The wire systems equipment repairer performs<br />

or supervises direct <strong>and</strong> general support (DS/GS) level maintenance<br />

on manual <strong>and</strong> semiautomatic unit level switchboards, telephones,<br />

<strong>and</strong> associated wire instruments <strong>and</strong> equipment. Duties for MOS<br />

35N at each level of skill are:<br />

( 1 ) M O S C 3 5 N 1 O . U s e s T e s t , M e a s u r e m e n t , a n d D i a g n o s t i c<br />

Equipment (TMDE) to test <strong>and</strong> isolate faulty assemblies <strong>and</strong> components<br />

for wire equipment <strong>and</strong> unit level switchboards. Identifies<br />

faults, replaces parts, rewires equipment, interconnects components,<br />

<strong>and</strong> adjusts all types of manual <strong>and</strong> semiautomatic telephone switchboard<br />

equipment. Uses circuit <strong>and</strong> wiring diagrams <strong>and</strong> schematics.<br />

Tests repaired equipment.<br />

(2) MOSC 35N2O. Performs complex maintenance tasks on malfunctioning<br />

equipment. Assists personnel engaged in installation <strong>and</strong><br />

repair of wire equipment. Prepares <strong>and</strong> maintains technical <strong>and</strong><br />

administrative shop records <strong>and</strong> bench stock. Interprets circuit diagrams<br />

<strong>and</strong> schematics <strong>and</strong> computes voltage, amperage, <strong>and</strong> resistance<br />

factors using algebraic formulae. Conducts technical or quality<br />

control inspections of repaired equipment.<br />

(3) MOSC 35N3O. Establishes work load, work schedules, repair<br />

Provides technical information <strong>and</strong> instruction to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

supported organizations. Supervises quality control inspections of<br />

manual <strong>and</strong> semiautomatic switchboards, telephones, <strong>and</strong> associated<br />

equipment. Advises <strong>and</strong> makes recommendations to superiors regarding<br />

maintenance status of in-shop equipment. Writes maintenance<br />

procedures required to support technical area of expertise.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Wire systems equipment repairer must possess the following<br />

additional qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 111221.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area EL.<br />

(5) A security clearance of SECRET.<br />

(6) Successful completion of one year of high school algebra <strong>and</strong><br />

general science.<br />

(7) A U.S citizen.<br />

(8) Formal training (completion of MOS 35N Course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Ordnance Missile <strong>and</strong> Munitions<br />

10–118.1. 35Q—Avionic Flight Systems Repairer (Avionic<br />

Flt Sys Rep), CMF 35<br />

a. Major duties. The avionic flight systems repairer performs<br />

intermediate maintenance on avionic navigation flight control <strong>and</strong><br />

stabilization equipment. Duties for MOS 35Q at each level of skill<br />

are:<br />

(1) MOSC 35Q1O. Performs intermediate <strong>and</strong> depot maintenance<br />

on avionic navigation, flight control <strong>and</strong> stabilization systems that<br />

include the following: (a) Marker beacons; (b) Radio direction finders;<br />

(c) VOR <strong>and</strong> glideslope receivers; (d) Automatic flight controls;<br />

(e) Stability augmentation systems; (f) Automatic stabilization systems;<br />

(g) Aircraft magnetic compasses; <strong>and</strong> (h) altitude/heading navi<br />

g a t i o n s y s t e m s . L o c a l i z e s a n d d i a g n o s e s c a u s e s o f e q u i p m e n t<br />

malfunction or nonfunction with common <strong>and</strong> specialized h<strong>and</strong> tools<br />

or test equipment. Replaces faulty components <strong>and</strong> individual parts<br />

a s r e q u i r e d . T r a c e s c i r c u i t r y , t e s t s , a l i g n s , a n d a d j u s t s r e p a i r e d<br />

equipment for proper functioning. Alters or modifies material according<br />

to modification work orders using prescribed procedures.<br />

Preparesforms <strong>and</strong> records related to aircraft <strong>and</strong> avionic equipment<br />

maintenance.<br />

(2) MOSC 35Q2O. Performs duties described in paragraph (1)<br />

<strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Performs<br />

unit level maintenance on special test equipment used in the repairi<br />

n g o f f l i g h t s y s t e m s a n d r e p a i r s f a u l t y p r i n t e d c i r c u i t b o a r d s .<br />

Schedules maintenance <strong>and</strong> calibration on tools <strong>and</strong> test equipment.<br />

(3) MOSC 35Q3O. Supervises <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to<br />

subordinate personnel performing maintenance of avionic flight systems<br />

equipment. Evaluates maintenance operations <strong>and</strong> facilities for<br />

c o m p l i a n c e w i t h d i r e c t i v e s , t e c h n i c a l m a n u a l s , w o r k s t a n d a r d s ,<br />

safety procedures, <strong>and</strong> operational policies. Performs maintenance<br />

trend analysis <strong>and</strong> applies production control, quality control <strong>and</strong><br />

other maintenance management principles <strong>and</strong> procedures to avionic<br />

flight systems equipment repair operations. Instructs personnel <strong>and</strong><br />

conducts technical training in avionic flight systems maintenance,<br />

supply, <strong>and</strong> safety techniques. Evaluates the technical training program.<br />

Monitors requisition of parts, tools, <strong>and</strong> supplies.<br />
