<strong>and</strong> general support (DS/GS) level maintenance on L<strong>and</strong> Combat<br />

Support Systems. Duties for MOS 35B at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 35B1O. Operates test station, AN/TSM-93 (LCSS).<br />

(2) MOSC 35B2O. Operates <strong>and</strong> performs unit <strong>and</strong> DS/GS level<br />

maintenance on test station, AN/TSM–93 (LCSS) <strong>and</strong> shop equipment,<br />

AN/TSM-94 (RGS).<br />

(3) MOSC 35B3O. Supervises unit <strong>and</strong> DS/GS level maintenance<br />

of LCSS.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. bat support systems test specialist must possess the following<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of moderately heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 212221.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A minimum score of 110 in aptitude area EL.<br />

(5) A security clearance of SECRET.<br />

(6) A U.S. citizen.<br />

(7) Formal training (completion of MOS 35B course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Ordnance Missile <strong>and</strong> Munitions<br />

Center <strong>and</strong> School) m<strong>and</strong>atory; or waiver issued by Comm<strong>and</strong>ant,<br />

USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35895-6100); or meet<br />

the civilian acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.<br />

c. Additional skill identifiers.<br />

(1) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

(2) 2S—Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 only).<br />

(3) 4A—Reclassification Training.<br />

d. Physical requirements <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade. Physical requirements<br />

10–112. 35C—Surveillance Radar Repairer (Surv Rdr<br />

Rep), CMF 35<br />

a. Major duties. The surveillance radar repairer performs or supervises<br />

direct <strong>and</strong> general support (DS/GS) level maintenance on<br />

ground surveillance radars <strong>and</strong> associated equipment. MOS 35C<br />

personnel also perform DS/GS <strong>and</strong> depot level maintenance on<br />

meteorological equipment. Duties for MOS 35C at each level of<br />

skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 35C1O. Inspects equipment for faults <strong>and</strong> completen<br />

e s s . T e s t s e q u i p m e n t t o d e t e r m i n e o p e r a t i o n a l c o n d i t i o n .<br />

Troubleshoots to determine location <strong>and</strong> extent of equipment faults.<br />

Repairs equipment by adjusting, aligning, repairing, or replacing<br />

defective components. Tests repaired items to ensure compliance<br />

w i t h t e c h n i c a l s p e c i f i c a t i o n s . P r e p a r e s a p p r o p r i a t e m a i n t e n a n c e<br />

forms <strong>and</strong> records. Performs unit level maintenance on tools <strong>and</strong> test<br />

equipment. Performs preventive maintenance checks <strong>and</strong> services<br />

(PMCS) on tools, test equipment, test, measurement <strong>and</strong> diagnostic<br />

equipment (TMDE), vehicles, <strong>and</strong> power generators.<br />

(2) MOSC 35C2O. Performs maintenance duties that are more<br />

complex <strong>and</strong> beyond the scope <strong>and</strong> experience of those performed<br />

by the skill level one repairer. Provides technical assistance to both<br />

subordinates <strong>and</strong> supported users. Performs quality control tests on<br />

repaired equipment. Requests <strong>and</strong> maintains authorized bench stock<br />

of repair parts, supplies, <strong>and</strong> technical publications.<br />

(3) MOSC 35C3O. Assigns specific duties to subordinate personnel.<br />

Establishes workload, work schedules, <strong>and</strong> repair priorities.<br />

Performs <strong>and</strong> supervises quality control inspections. Coordinates<br />

logistical support. Establishes <strong>and</strong> supervises on the job technical<br />

instructional programs for subordinate personnel. Provides technical<br />

information <strong>and</strong> assistance to supported units. Advises <strong>and</strong> makes<br />

recommendations concerning equipment repair <strong>and</strong> status to superiors.<br />

Prepares, reviews, <strong>and</strong> consolidates technical <strong>and</strong> administrative<br />

reports <strong>and</strong> requests. Evacuates equipment to higher level repair<br />

organizations.<br />

10–112.1. 35D—Air Traffic Control Equipment Repairer<br />

(ATC Equip Rep), CMF 35<br />

a. Major duties. The ATC Equipment Repairer performs unit<br />

through intermediate direct support maintenance <strong>and</strong> installation of<br />

ATC communications, navigation aids (NAVAIDS), <strong>and</strong> l<strong>and</strong>ing<br />

systems. Duties of MOS 35D at each skill level are:<br />

(1) MOSC 35D1O. Performs installation <strong>and</strong> adjustments of ATC<br />

C o m m u n i c a t i o n s / N A V A I D S s y s t e m s . U s e s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g t e c h -<br />

niques to include sectionalization, localization, <strong>and</strong> isolation to diagn<br />

o s e c a u s e s o f m a l f u n c t i o n o r n o n f u n c t i o n t o i n d e p e n d e n t<br />

equipment <strong>and</strong> ATC systems. Tests, aligns, <strong>and</strong> adjusts equipment.<br />

Replaces <strong>and</strong> repairs faulty components <strong>and</strong> individual parts using<br />

repair techniques <strong>and</strong> trouble analysis charts. Maintains ATC Communications<br />

systems. Checks <strong>and</strong> makes adjustments on avionic<br />

e q u i p m e n t a s s o c i a t e d w i t h A T C s y s t e m s . M a i n t a i n s e q u i p m e n t<br />

maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists,<br />

<strong>and</strong> technical literature. Maintains technical manuals, <strong>and</strong> instructional<br />

material for repair of ATC Communication/Navigation systems<br />

<strong>and</strong> equipment.<br />

(2) MOSC 35D2O. Provides technical guidance to subordinate<br />

personnel. Installs <strong>and</strong> troubleshoots ATC equipment, l<strong>and</strong>ing systems<br />

<strong>and</strong> identification friend or foe/selective identification feature<br />

(IFF/SIF) systems. Performs comparison checks on repaired equipment<br />

in accordance with test st<strong>and</strong>ards. Performs modification work<br />

orders, repairs <strong>and</strong> replaces faulty components.<br />

(3) MOSC 35D3O. Performs unit through intermediate forward<br />

maintenance of ATC systems <strong>and</strong> equipment. Instructs in maintenance<br />

practices, procedures, <strong>and</strong> techniques. Assists in diagnosis of<br />

complex malfunctions <strong>and</strong> component modification. Establishes production<br />

<strong>and</strong> quality control procedures. Inspects work <strong>and</strong> maintenance<br />

equipment. Serves as principal maintenance NCO in an ATC<br />

platoon or section.<br />

(4) MOSC 35D4O. Supervises systems maintenance <strong>and</strong> installation<br />

activity. Conducts unit training <strong>and</strong> maintenance certification<br />

programs. Coordinates unit maintenance, calibration <strong>and</strong> installation<br />

activities. Diagnoses <strong>and</strong> determines cause of unusual equipment<br />

malfunctions. Reads, interprets, <strong>and</strong> explains specifications, circuits,<br />

schematics, <strong>and</strong> wiring diagrams. Instructs in the demonstration/<br />

utilization of special test equipment, tools, st<strong>and</strong>ards, correct maintenance,<br />

<strong>and</strong> installation procedures. Prepares technical reports on<br />

ATC Systems.<br />

(5) MOSC 35D5O. Supervises <strong>and</strong> evaluates maintenance <strong>and</strong><br />

installation of ATC systems. Supervises maintenance certification<br />

program. Advises maintenance officer/comm<strong>and</strong>er of maintenance<br />

activities. Develops policies/procedures for ATC facilities/unit maintenance<br />

activities. Determines effectiveness of ATC unit maintenance<br />

performance.
