a . M a j o r d u t i e s . T h e E W / I S y s t e m s R e p a i r e r s u p e r v i s e s o r<br />

provides unit, direct or general (DS/GS), <strong>and</strong> depot level maintenance<br />

support on EW/I systems <strong>and</strong> assemblies. Duties for MOS<br />

33W at each skill level are:<br />

(1) MOSC 33W1O. Maintains, tests, <strong>and</strong> repairs electrical <strong>and</strong><br />

mechanical equipment associated with EW/I systems using specialized<br />

measurement <strong>and</strong> diagnostic equipment. Operates <strong>and</strong> maintains<br />

power generators, vehicles, <strong>and</strong> mobile maintenance shelters.<br />

Prepares maintenance forms <strong>and</strong> records.<br />

(2) MOSC 33W2O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill<br />

level <strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Diagnoses unusual<br />

<strong>and</strong> complex malfunctions in EW/I systems. Performs harmonic<br />

distortion <strong>and</strong> wow <strong>and</strong> flutter tests on narrow b<strong>and</strong> recorders.<br />

Assists in conducting formal <strong>and</strong> informal SOJT programs.<br />

(3) MOSC 33W3O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill<br />

level <strong>and</strong> provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Serves as the<br />

quality assurance inspector for EW/I systems. Conducts <strong>and</strong> monitors<br />

formal <strong>and</strong> informal SOJT programs. Prepares technical annexes<br />

for unit St<strong>and</strong>ard Operating Procedures (SOP). Diagnoses<br />

unusual <strong>and</strong> complex malfunctions, <strong>and</strong> analyzes recurring faults<br />

<strong>and</strong> recommends modifications. Performs critical alignment <strong>and</strong> calibration<br />

procedures on EW/I systems. Maintains the technical library<br />

a n d e q u i p m e n t r e p a i r a n d m a i n t e n a n c e s c h e d u l e s . R e c o m m e n d s<br />

changes to the Prescribed Load List (PLL).<br />

(4) MOSC 33W4O. Performs duties shown in preceding skill<br />

l e v e l a n d p r o v i d e s g u i d a n c e t o s u b o r d i n a t e s o l d i e r s . S u p e r v i s e s<br />

maintenance teams or shops at maintenance activities or army depots.<br />

Supervises unit Test, Measurement <strong>and</strong> Diagnostic Equipment<br />

(TMDE) calibration program. Coordinates with operations sections<br />

for maintenance <strong>and</strong> repair of EW/I equipment. Monitors installation<br />

projects for EW/I systems. Establishes <strong>and</strong> monitors unit preventive<br />

maintenance program for EW/I systems. Prepares periodic input to<br />

the EW/I systems status reports. Maintains applicable administrative<br />

<strong>and</strong> maintenance files in accordance with <strong>Army</strong> regulations. Inspects<br />

the <strong>Army</strong> Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) <strong>and</strong> repair<br />

parts records. Recommends changes to the PLL. Reviews <strong>and</strong> valid<br />

a t e s r e p a i r p a r t r e q u e s t s . V e r i f i e s c o n d i t i o n c o d e s a s s i g n e d t o<br />

equipment during technical inspections.<br />

(5) Performs duties shown in preceding skill level <strong>and</strong> provides<br />

guidance to subordinate soldiers. Serves as the principal maintenance<br />

NCO in a maintenance activity or an <strong>Army</strong> level depot.<br />

Responsible for all aspects of operations to include production,<br />

quality control, quality assurance, <strong>and</strong> repair parts supply operations.<br />

Analyzes maintenance requirements <strong>and</strong> establishes commitments.<br />

Develops plans to use resources <strong>and</strong> determines priorities <strong>and</strong> overall<br />

training requirements. When assigned to staff positions; prepares<br />

technical studies, special reports, correspondence, <strong>and</strong> records pertaining<br />

to maintenance operations.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

M O S . E W / I s y s t e m s r e p a i r e r m u s t p o s s e s s t h e f o l l o w i n g<br />

qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of medium.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 222221.<br />

(3) Normal color vision.<br />

(4) A minimum score of 115 in aptitude area ST.<br />

(5) The soldier must meet TOP SECRET security clearance <strong>and</strong><br />

S e n s i t i v e C o m p a r t m e n t e d I n f o r m a t i o n ( S C I ) a c c e s s e l i g i b i l i t y<br />

requirements.<br />

(6) A high school graduate or equivalent.<br />

(7) Completed a high school algebra course or equivalent.<br />

(8) Formal training (completion of MOS 33W course conducted<br />

u n d e r t h e a u s p i c e s o f t h e U . S . A r m y I n t e l l i g e n c e C e n t e r )<br />

m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

(9) The soldier must be a U.S. citizen.<br />

( a ) M e m b e r s o f i m m e d i a t e f a m i l y ( s p o u s e , p a r e n t s , b r o t h e r s ,<br />

sisters, <strong>and</strong> children) must also be U.S. citizens. Soldier <strong>and</strong> immediate<br />

family members can be naturalized citizens. If naturalized,<br />

there is no minimum residency requirement.<br />

(b) Soldier <strong>and</strong> spouse must not have immediate family members<br />

who reside in a country within whose boundaries physical or mental<br />

coercion is known to be common practice, either against-<br />

1. Persons accused of acting in the interest of the United States<br />

or<br />

2. The relatives of such persons to whom they may reasonably be<br />

considered to be bound by ties of affection, kinship, or obligation.<br />

Near relatives will also include uncles, aunts, gr<strong>and</strong>parents, fatherin-law,<br />

mother-in-law, <strong>and</strong> relationships corresponding to any of the<br />

above persons in loco parentis (AR 630-5 <strong>and</strong> 37 USC 501.<br />

(10) Have neither commercial nor vested interest in a country<br />

within whose boundaries physical or mental coercion is known to be<br />

a common practice against persons acting in the interest of the<br />

United States. This requirement applies to the soldier’s spouse as<br />

well.<br />

(11) Meet career management <strong>and</strong> development criteria contained<br />

in AR 600-200, AR 614-200, <strong>and</strong> DA Pam 351-4.<br />

(12) No record of court-martial.<br />

(13) No record of conviction by a civil court for any offense<br />

other than minor traffic violations.<br />

(14) No information in military personnel, Provost Marshal, intelligence,<br />

or medical records which will prevent the granting of security<br />

clearance under AR 604-5.<br />

(15) Never been a member of the U.S. Peace Corps, except as<br />

specified in AR 614-200, chapter 1.<br />

(16) Be advised that due to the nature of training <strong>and</strong> assignments,<br />

temporary restrictions may be placed on foreign travel both<br />

during <strong>and</strong> after the term of service.<br />

(1) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

( 2 ) U 2 — U n m a n n e d A e r i a l V e h i c l e - S h o r t R a n g e ( U A V - S R )<br />
