following qualifications:

(3) Normal color vision.
(4) A minimum score of 110 in aptitude area EL.
(5) A security clearance of CONFIDENTIAL.
(6) Mandatory formal training (or waiver issued by Commandant,
USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35897-6100).

10–80. 24M—VULCAN System Mechanic (VULCAN Sys
Mech), CMF 23 (Closed to women - see chapter 13)
a. Major duties. The VULCAN system mechanic supervises and
performs unit level maintenance on the VULCAN weapon system
and associated equipment. Duties for MOS 24M at each skill level
are:
(1) MOSC 24M1O. Performs unit level maintenance on the VUL-
CAN weapon system, range-only radar, and associated equipment.
Troubleshoots, performs scheduled maintenance, checks, tests, adjusts,
and isolates malfunctions on components of the VULCAN
weapon system and associated subsystems. Performs maintenance
on unit test, measurement, and diagnostics equipment.
(2) MOSC 24M2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Initiates requests for
repair parts. Provides technical assistance and guidance in the conduct
of operational and maintenance inspections.
(3) MOSC 24M3O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in theaccomplishment of their duties. Supervises the training
of maintenance personnel. Instructs maintenance personnel in
maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques. Maintains
forms for scheduled maintenance of VULCAN system and test
equipment.
(4) MOSC 24M4O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Establishes mainten

weapon system and associated equipment. Coordinates maintenance
activities with supporting units. Supervises the requisitioning and

a. Major duties. The CHAPARRAL system mechanic supervises
and performs unit level maintenance on the CHAPPARRAL missile
system system and associated equipment. Duties for MOS 24N at
each skill level are:
( 1 ) M O S C 2 4 N 1 O . P e r f o r m s u n i t l e v e l m a i n t e n a n c e o n t h e
CHAPARRAL weapons system and associated equipment to include
CHAPARRAL missiles and identification, friend or foe (IFF) equipment.
Services and performs scheduled unit level maintenance on
components of the CHAPARRAL launching station and associated
s u b s y s t e m s .

missiles. Checks, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs the CHAPAR-
RAL weapon system and associated equipment at unit level. Installs
authorized equipment and performs operator maintenance on assigned
individual and section TOE equipment.
(2) MOSC 24N2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Provides technical
assistance and guidance inthe conduct of operational and maintenance
inspections and in operator maintenance training. Assists in
maintaining equipment records and repair lists. Performs advanced
troubleshooting using system theory and schematic interpretation.
(3) MOSC 24N3O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervises maintenance
training to includecollective and shared tasks for the CHAP-
ARRAL weapon system and associated equipment. Prepares repair
parts requests and modification work orders. Implements calibration
support system.
(4) MOSC 24N4O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Coordinates activities
with supportingmaintenance units. Supervises maintenance management
program. Trains CHAPARRAL personnel on storage, maintenance,
and security of accountable property. Conducts technical

equipment.
