(2) MOSC 19K2O. Performs primary duties as gunner and secondary
duties as Tank Commander. Also performs duties shown in
preceding level of skill and supervises subordinate personnel in
performance of these duties. Prepares sketch and range cards. Operates
main gun controls and firing controls. Adjusts fire. Fires main
gun. Prepares radio equipment for operation and enters net. Operates

training tank crew. Prepares, files, and distributes operations maps,
situation maps, and overlays. Reads and interprets maps and aerial

and enemy units. Marks vehicle routes on maps and overlays. Reproduces,
distributes, and files operations orders and plans. Inspects
tank turret and automotive components for malfunctions. Assists in
the performance of unit maintenance of automotive components.
Assists in maintaining the gunnery proficiency of subordinate gunners
and loaders. Supervises ammunition resupply operations to
include request, receipt, storage, inspection, and issue of ammunition
within armor units.
(3) MOSC 19K3O. Performs duties as tank commander. Directs
deployment of personnel and tank in combat operations and training
exercises. Evaluates terrain and selected routes, areas, and firing
positions. Identifies and selects targets. Issues fire commands. Directs
fire of tank weapons. Supervises training of tank crew. Conducts
battle drills. Requests, observes, and adjusts supporting fire.
Responds to direction from platoon leader. Coordinates action of
tank with platoon and supporting elements. Plans movement routes.
Supervises crew operator maintenance. Coordinates requirements for
unit maintenance. Supervises camouflage of equipment. Evaluates
work performance of subordinate crewmembers. Ensures collection
and proper reporting of intelligence data to unit and responsible staff
sections. Supervises operation of support platoon class III/V squads.
(4) MOSC 19K4O. Performs duties as a tank PSG. Assists in
planning, organization, direction, training, supervision, coordination,
and reporting activities of tank platoon or staff section. Supervises
platoon maintenance activities. Directs distribution of fire and assigns
fields of fire. Collects, evaluates, and assists in interpretation
and dissemination of combat information. Directs platoon tactical
movement. Directs movement to contact, hasty attack, and defense
at platoon level. Coordinates platoon resupply operations. Supervises
the employment of OPSEC measures. Coordinates the evacuation
of casualties.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of
MOS. M1 armor crewmen must possess the following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 111121.
(3) Correctable vision of 20/20 in one eye and 20/100 in other
eye.
(4) Normal color vision.
(5) A maximum height of 6 feet, 1 inch.
(6) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area CO.
(7) Formal training (completion of MOS 19K course conducted
under the auspices of U.S. Army Armor School) mandatory.
(8) The highest rank an individual may reclassify into MOS 19K
is rank of SGT.

a. Major duties. The armor senior sergeant serves as principal
NCO in armor company, cavalry troop, or operations and intelligence
staff sections in armor battalion, cavalry squadron, or higher
level organizations. Plans, coordinates, and supervises activities pertaining
to organization, training, combat operations, and combat
intelligence. Supervises operations center at battalion and higher
level units. Collects, interprets, analyzes, evaluates, and disseminates
intelligence information and data. Edits and prepares tactical
operations plans and orders. Coordinates implementation of operations,
training programs, and communications activities.

10–77. 23R—HAWK Missile System Mechanic (HAWK Msl
Sys Mech) (Reserve Components), CMF 14
a. Major duties. The HAWK missile system mechanic supervises
or performs unit level maintenance on the HAWK missile system
and its associated equipment. Duties for MOS 23R at each skill
level are:
( 1 ) M O S C 2 3 R 1 O . P e r f o r m s u n i t l e v e l m a i n t e n a n c e o n t h e
HAWK missile system and its associated equipment. Assists operators
in march order and emplacement of equipment.
(2) MOSC 23R2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Provides technical
assistance in orientation and alignment, conduct of operational and
maintenance inspections, and march order and emplacement of the
HAWK system. Initiates requests for repair parts, tools, test equipment
and other supplies.
(3) MOSC 23R3O. Performs duties in preceding skill levels, supervises
lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the
soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Enforces safety procedures
and standards. Conducts training programs for maintenance
