(1) MOSC 11H1O. Assaults <strong>and</strong> destroys enemy tanks <strong>and</strong> armor<br />

vehicles, emplacements, weapons, <strong>and</strong> personnel with heavy antiarmor<br />

weapons. Employs, fires, <strong>and</strong> recovers antipersonnel <strong>and</strong> antitank<br />

mines. Locates <strong>and</strong> neutralizes mines. Operates, mounts/dismounts,<br />

zeroes <strong>and</strong> engages targets with night vision sight. Performs<br />

self extraction from a mine field. Orients a map. Operates <strong>and</strong><br />

maintains communications equipment <strong>and</strong> enter a radio net. Operates<br />

in an NBC contaminated area. Constructs <strong>and</strong> camouflages<br />

i n d i v i d u a l / c r e w s e r v e d w e a p o n s f i r i n g p o s i t i o n s . R e c o g n i z e s<br />

friendly <strong>and</strong> threat armored vehicles. Constructs <strong>and</strong> camouflages<br />

dismounted fighting positions.<br />

(2) MOSC 11H2O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Leads a heavy anti-armor weapons squad in combat operations.<br />

Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishment<br />

of their duties. Leads, supervises <strong>and</strong> trains subordinate<br />

personnel. Calls for adjusting indirect fire. Evaluates terrain<br />

<strong>and</strong> selects weapon emplacement. Installs <strong>and</strong> recovers electrical<br />

<strong>and</strong> non-electrical demolition charges. Records operational information<br />

on maps. Indicates location, strength, tactical deployment, <strong>and</strong><br />

emplacement of enemy <strong>and</strong> friendly units. Receives <strong>and</strong> implements<br />

a combat order; directs deployment of personnel on offensive, defensive,<br />

<strong>and</strong> retrograde operations. Conducts battle damage assessment<br />

<strong>and</strong> repair. Knows threat formations <strong>and</strong> tactics thru battalion<br />

size elements. Prepares, operates, <strong>and</strong> maintains secure communications<br />

equipment.<br />

(3) MOSC 11H3O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Leads a heavy anti-armor weapons section in combat operations.<br />

Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishment<br />

of their duties. Receives <strong>and</strong> issues orders. Supervises<br />

the tactical deployment of the TOW section during offensive, defensive,<br />

<strong>and</strong> retrograde operations. Ensures collection <strong>and</strong> proper reporting<br />

of intelligence data to the unit. Prepares an anti-armor section<br />

sketch.<br />

(4) MOSC 11H4O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Supervises heavy anti-armor weapons platoon. Provides tactical<br />

<strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong> professional support<br />

to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishment of their<br />

duties. Supervises the occupation of an assembly area. Plans for,<br />

supervises preparation of, <strong>and</strong> conducts NBC operations. Develops a<br />

platoon training plan. Knows threat organization <strong>and</strong> tactics thru<br />

regiment level. Plans for, coordinates resources for, <strong>and</strong> sets up a<br />

multipurpose range complex for TOW qualifications exercises.<br />

(5) MOSC 11H5O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Supervises heavy anti-armor weapons companies in combat<br />

operations <strong>and</strong> processes operations <strong>and</strong> intelligence information.<br />

Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong> professional<br />

support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishm<br />

e n t o f t h e i r d u t i e s . S e r v e s a s t h e p r i n c i p a l n o n c o m m i s s i o n e d<br />

officer in an infantry anti-armor company <strong>and</strong> supervises the processing<br />

of operations <strong>and</strong> intelligence information in an infantry battali<br />

o n o r h i g h e r l e v e l u n i t . P l a n s , c o o r d i n a t e s , s u p e r v i s e s , a n d<br />

participates in activities pertaining to organization, training, <strong>and</strong><br />

combat operations <strong>and</strong> intelligence of units at battalion or higher<br />

level.<br />

b . P h y s i c a l d e m a n d s r a t i n g a n d q u a l i f i c a t i o n s f o r t h e i n i t i a l<br />

award of MOS. Heavy antiarmor weapons infantrymen must possess<br />

the following qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 111221.<br />

(3) Color discrimination of red/green.<br />

(4) Correctable vision of 20/20 in one eye; 20/100 in other eye.<br />

(5) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area CO.<br />

(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 11H course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the USA Infantry School) m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

10–44. 11M—Fighting Vehicle Infantryman (FV<br />

Infantryman) CMF 11 (Closed to women - see chapter 13).<br />

a. Major duties. The fighting vehicle infantryman leads, supervises,<br />

<strong>and</strong> serves as a member of a fighting vehicle unit or activity<br />

employing vehicular <strong>and</strong> dismounted weapons in combat operations.<br />

Duties for MOS 11M at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 11M1O. Performs duties as IFV driver, gunner, or fire<br />

team member. Operates both mounted <strong>and</strong> dismounted to close with<br />

<strong>and</strong> destroy the enemy. Employs, operates, <strong>and</strong> maintains assigned<br />

weapons <strong>and</strong> equipment. Employs proper dismounted movement<br />

techniques, cover, concealment, <strong>and</strong> camouflage as part of dismount<br />

team. Performs basic communication functions <strong>and</strong> operates platoon<br />

communications equipment. Constructs individual fighting positions.<br />

Assists in the construction of fortification <strong>and</strong> barriers, including<br />

minefields <strong>and</strong> obstacles. Assist in the breaching of minefields <strong>and</strong><br />

obstacles. Collects <strong>and</strong> reports tactical information as member of<br />

combat or reconnaissance patrol. Operates IFV over varied terrain in<br />

varied visibility. Conducts preventive maintenance checks <strong>and</strong> services<br />

on the IFV <strong>and</strong> its components. Assists in target detection,<br />

identification, <strong>and</strong> round sensing.<br />

(2) MOSC 11M2O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Performs duties as IFV gunner or team leader of dismounted<br />

element. Provides technical <strong>and</strong> tactical guidance to subordinates<br />

<strong>and</strong> professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the<br />

performance of their duties. As team leader, leads infantry dismount<br />

team in combat operations; processes operational <strong>and</strong> intelligence<br />

data. Receives <strong>and</strong> implements combat orders. Evaluates terrain;<br />

selects weapons placement sites; assigns target engagement areas<br />

<strong>and</strong> fields of fire. Requests, observes, <strong>and</strong> adjusts direct <strong>and</strong> indirect<br />

supporting fires. Supervises construction of fortifications. Records<br />

operational information on maps; reads <strong>and</strong> interprets maps. Prepares<br />

sector sketch of vehicle or dismount team positions <strong>and</strong> sectors.<br />

As gunner, detects, acquires, identifies, <strong>and</strong> engages targets.<br />

Maintains the turret <strong>and</strong> weapon systems of the IFV.<br />

(3) MOSC 11M3O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Perform duties as squad leader or section leader in IFV platoon.<br />

Provides technical <strong>and</strong> tactical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the performance<br />

of their duties. Receives, issues, <strong>and</strong> implements orders.<br />

Controls vehicular <strong>and</strong> dismounted weapons fire in mounted <strong>and</strong><br />

dismounted operations. Coordinates actions of the squad with adjacent<br />

<strong>and</strong> supporting elements. Coordinates organic <strong>and</strong> supporting<br />

firepower. Ensures collection <strong>and</strong> proper reporting of intelligence<br />

data to unit <strong>and</strong> responsible staff sections.<br />

(4) MOSC 11M4O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Performs duties as platoon sergeant or operations sergeant.<br />

Provides technical <strong>and</strong> tactical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong> professional<br />

support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the performance<br />

of their duties. Receives, issues <strong>and</strong> implements orders. Assists<br />

platoon leader in controlling platoon in mounted <strong>and</strong> dismounted<br />

operations. Assists in dissemination of intelligence information to<br />

unit <strong>and</strong> staff sections. Assists in planning, organizing, directing,<br />

supervising, training, coordinating, <strong>and</strong> reporting activities of subordinate<br />

elements. Performs battle damage assessment. Supervises plat<br />

o o n m a i n t e n a n c e a c t i v i t i e s . S u p e r v i s e s r e c e i p t , s t o r a g e , a n d<br />

distribution of ammunition, supplies, equipment, <strong>and</strong> rations to subordinate<br />

elements. Assists in production <strong>and</strong> administration of staff<br />

journals, files, records, <strong>and</strong> reports. Assists in coordination <strong>and</strong>
