skill. Supervises an infantry company in combat. Plans, coordinates,<br />

supervises, <strong>and</strong> participates in activities pertaining to organization,<br />

training, combat operations, <strong>and</strong> intelligence of units at battalion or<br />

higher. Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishment<br />

of their duties. Serves as the principal noncommissioned<br />

officer in an infantry company; supervising the processing of<br />

operations <strong>and</strong> intelligence information in an infantry battalion or<br />

higher level unit.<br />

b. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Infantrymen must possess the following qualifications—<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 111221.<br />

(3) Color discrimination of red/green.<br />

(4) Correctable vision of 20/20 in one eye; 20/100 in other eye.<br />

(5) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area CO.<br />

(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 11B course conducted<br />

under the auspices of the USA Infantry School) m<strong>and</strong>atory.<br />

c. Additional skill identifiers.<br />

(1) B4—Sniper.<br />

(2) C2—DRAGON Gunnery.<br />

(3) F7—Pathfinder.<br />

(4) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

a. Major duties. The indirect fire infantryman serves as a supervisor<br />

retrograde ground combat tactical operations. Duties for MOS 11C<br />

at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 11C1O. Employs, fires, <strong>and</strong> recovers anti-personnel<br />

<strong>and</strong> anti–tank mines. Performs self extraction from a mine field.<br />

Locates <strong>and</strong> neutralizes mines. Navigates from one point on the<br />

ground to another. Orients a map. Operates <strong>and</strong> maintains communications<br />

equipment <strong>and</strong> operates in a radio net. Operates in a NBC<br />

Constructs <strong>and</strong> camouflages individual/crew served weapons firing<br />

position. Constructs <strong>and</strong> camouflages a mortar firing position. Maintains<br />

mortars <strong>and</strong> fire control equipment. Performs safety checks on<br />

mortars. Performs as a member of a mortar squad providing indirect<br />

fire support.<br />

(2) MOSC 11C2O. Performs duties shown in preceding level<br />

skill. Leads <strong>and</strong> controls mortar squads. Supervises <strong>and</strong> trains subordinate<br />

personnel. Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates<br />

<strong>and</strong> professional support to subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors in the<br />

accomplishment of their duties. Supervises the construction of mortar<br />

positions. Records operational information on maps. Receives<br />

<strong>and</strong> implements combat orders; directs deployment of personnel in<br />

offensive, defensive, <strong>and</strong> retrograde operations. Requests, observes,<br />

<strong>and</strong> adjusts indirect supporting fire. Supervises subordinate personnel<br />

in all phases of individual <strong>and</strong> mortar equipment maintenance.<br />

Uses map <strong>and</strong> map overlays, performs intersection <strong>and</strong> resection,<br />

<strong>and</strong> determines elevations <strong>and</strong> grid azimuth. Prepares fire plans,<br />

target lists <strong>and</strong> overlays. Prepares <strong>and</strong> computes firing data using<br />

below pivot point <strong>and</strong> grid method. Reciprocally lay mortars. Prepares<br />

mortar ballistic computer for operation.<br />

(3) MOSC 11C3O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Leads a mortar section. Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance<br />

to subordinates <strong>and</strong> professional support to both subordinates<br />

<strong>and</strong> superiors in the accomplishment of their duties. Receives <strong>and</strong><br />

issues orders. Coordinates indirect fire support for the mortar. Ensures<br />

collection <strong>and</strong> proper reporting of intelligence data to unit.<br />

Supervises a firing section <strong>and</strong> various work details. Analyzes terrain.<br />

Conducts tactical operations for a squad <strong>and</strong> NBC operations.<br />

Maintains operational security. Prepares, operates, <strong>and</strong> maintains<br />

secure communications equipment. Reciprocally lay mortars. Consolidates<br />

<strong>and</strong> re organizes a mortar squad. Supervises fire direction<br />

center personnel.<br />

(4) MOSC 11C4O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Leads mortar or infantry weapons platoon. Assists in planning<br />

(to include fire planning), organizing, directing, supervising, training,<br />

coordinating, <strong>and</strong> reporting activities of subordinate mortar sect<br />

i o n s a n d s q u a d s . P r o v i d e s t a c t i c a l a n d t e c h n i c a l g u i d a n c e t o<br />

subordinates <strong>and</strong> professional support to subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors<br />

in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervises occupation of an<br />

assembly area. Employs NBC defensive team. Plans for, supervises<br />

preparation of, <strong>and</strong> conducts NBC operations. Performs battle damage<br />

assessment. Develops a platoon training plan. Conducts graphic<br />

resection <strong>and</strong> hasty surveys.<br />

(5) MOSC 11C5O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill. Supervises a mortar platoon. Assists in planning (to include<br />

fire planning), organizing, directing, supervising, training, coordinati<br />

n g , a n d r e p o r t i n g a c t i v i t i e s o f s u b o r d i n a t e m o r t a r s e c t i o n s a n d<br />

squads. Provides tactical <strong>and</strong> technical guidance to subordinates <strong>and</strong><br />

professional support to both subordinates <strong>and</strong> superiors, which also<br />
