Assists the comm<strong>and</strong>er in planning, scheduling <strong>and</strong> executing training<br />

<strong>and</strong> operational missions. Provides expertise to staff planners<br />

<strong>and</strong> diving teams. Writes <strong>and</strong> develops doctrinal, regulatory, training,<br />

<strong>and</strong> safety material related to the accomplishment of diving<br />

missions.<br />

c. Physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating <strong>and</strong> qualifications for initial award of<br />

MOS. Divers must possess the following qualifications:<br />

(1) A physical dem<strong>and</strong>s rating of very heavy.<br />

(2) A physical profile of 111111.<br />

(3) A minimum score of 100 in aptitude area GM <strong>and</strong> a st<strong>and</strong>ard<br />

score of 110 or higher in aptitude area GT or ST.<br />

(4) The medical fitness st<strong>and</strong>ards for diver per AR 40-501.<br />

(5) MOSC qualification per AR 611-75 at each level of skill.<br />

(6) The m<strong>and</strong>atory formal training.<br />

d. Additional skill identifiers.<br />

(1) P5—Master Fitness Trainer.<br />

10–37. 00Z—Comm<strong>and</strong> Sergeant Major<br />

The CSM is the senior enlisted trainer <strong>and</strong> spokesperson that enforces<br />

established policies <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards for enlisted soldiers pert<br />

a i n i n g t o p e r f o r m a n c e , c a r e , c o n d u c t , a p p e a r a n c e , e f f e c t i v e<br />

personnel utilization <strong>and</strong> management <strong>and</strong> training; <strong>and</strong> ensures that<br />

subordinate NCOs do the same. Duties for MOS 00Z are:<br />

a. Major duties.<br />

(1) Provides advice <strong>and</strong> makes recommendations to the comm<strong>and</strong>er<br />

<strong>and</strong> staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers <strong>and</strong><br />

their families.<br />

( 2 ) A c c o m p a n i e s t h e c o m m a n d e r o n i n s p e c t i o n s , v i s i t s a n d<br />

ceremonies.<br />

(3) Assists in inspection of comm<strong>and</strong> activities, facilities <strong>and</strong><br />

personnel as prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

(4) Ensures adherence to comm<strong>and</strong> policies.<br />

(5) Holds first sergeants’ or sergeants’ major call to announce<br />

information <strong>and</strong> instruction.<br />

(6) Ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed<br />

in military courtesy, customs of the service <strong>and</strong> comm<strong>and</strong> regulations<br />

or policies.<br />

(7) Responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of<br />

enlisted soldiers. Assesses training at all levels <strong>and</strong> provides feedback<br />

to appropriate comm<strong>and</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> leaders.<br />

(8) Provides counsel <strong>and</strong> guidance to NCOs <strong>and</strong> other enlisted<br />

soldiers of the comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

( 9 ) R e s p o n s i b l e f o r a n d p r o v i d e s g u i d a n c e o n N o n - C o m m i s -<br />

sioned Officer Education System (NCOES) <strong>and</strong> Non-Commissioned<br />

Officer Development Program (NCODP).<br />

(10) Inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs.<br />

(12) Assists in reception of visitors to the comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(14) Sits as chairperson or member of a comm<strong>and</strong>’s “<strong>Military</strong><br />

Member of the Quarter/Year” competition for enlisted soldiers or<br />

NCOs, as directed by local regulations.<br />

(15) Responsible for quality, control <strong>and</strong> training of noncommissioned<br />

officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely<br />

submissions. Reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance<br />

with policies <strong>and</strong> procedures <strong>and</strong> recommends corrective actions on<br />

deficiencies to comm<strong>and</strong>ers, other leaders <strong>and</strong> rating officials.<br />

(16) Performs other duties prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

(17) Assists in the professional development of junior <strong>and</strong> company<br />

grade officer.<br />

b. Major duties. The brass, woodwind, or percussion player supervises<br />

an instrumental section <strong>and</strong> plays a brass, woodwind, or<br />

percussion instrument as a musician in a military b<strong>and</strong>. Duties for<br />

MOS 02B, 02C, 02D, 02E, 02F, 02G, 02H, 02J, 02K, 02L, 02M,<br />

02N, 02T <strong>and</strong> 02U at each level of skill are:<br />

(1) MOSC 02-1O. Performs all applicable styles of music on an<br />

instrument. Expected styles include, but are not limited to, the following:<br />

marching b<strong>and</strong>, ceremonial b<strong>and</strong>, concert b<strong>and</strong>, “classical”,<br />

jazz, ethnic, <strong>and</strong> “popular” music compositions. Performs on a musical<br />

instrument in a variety of ensembles, ranging from solo performance<br />

to full concert b<strong>and</strong>. Tunes an instrument to a given pitch.<br />

T r a n s p o s e s m o d e r a t e l y e a s y m u s i c . D i s c r i m i n a t e s a n d m a t c h e s<br />

pitch. Performs operator maintenance on a musical instrument. Augments<br />

local security during periods of heightened combat intensity<br />

as required.<br />

(2) MOS 02B. For MOS 02B only, performs bugle calls in ceremonies.<br />

For MOS 02K <strong>and</strong> 02H only, doubles on another instrument<br />

in marching b<strong>and</strong>. For MOS 02N, 02T, <strong>and</strong> 02U only, augments the<br />

percussion section in marching <strong>and</strong> concert b<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

(3) MOSC 02-2O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of<br />

skill, <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel.<br />

Performs duties in administration, training, supply, <strong>and</strong>/or operations<br />

as required.<br />

(4) MOSC 02-3O. Performs duties shown in preceding levels of<br />

skill, <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel.<br />

Organizes, instructs, <strong>and</strong> trains a section or consolidated section of<br />

related instrumentalists. Instructs section members in marching b<strong>and</strong><br />

movements. Supervises section operator maintenance. Counsels <strong>and</strong><br />

evaluates section/squad members. Performs as Drum Major. Repairs<br />

instruments. Serves as audio/recording operator or librarian.<br />

(5) MOSC 02-4O. Performs duties shown in preceding levels of<br />

skill, <strong>and</strong> provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel.<br />

Supervises b<strong>and</strong> support positions (administrative, supply, operations/training).<br />

Trains <strong>and</strong> leads the stage b<strong>and</strong>. Assists with concert<br />

b<strong>and</strong> training.<br />
