Technician Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC).<br />

(b) Meet vision <strong>and</strong> hearing st<strong>and</strong>ards of AR 40-501 for assignment<br />

of warrant officers to Ordnance Corps, have normal color<br />

discrimination per AR 40-501, <strong>and</strong> have full use of both h<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

(c) Have good h<strong>and</strong>-eye coordination <strong>and</strong> manual dexterity to<br />

make minute adjustments on sensitive instruments.<br />

( d ) B e a U . S . c i t i z e n . Q u a l i f y f o r a s e c u r i t y c l e a r a n c e o f<br />

SECRET.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1).<br />

(b) Complete the Ordnance Warrant Officer Advanced Course<br />

(WOAC).<br />

(3) CW4 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(2).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Staff Course (WOSC).<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(3).<br />

g. Duties.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2—<br />

(a) Manages personnel, equipment, <strong>and</strong> facility assets for the<br />

installation, operation, repair, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> modification of radio,<br />

radar, computer, electronic data processing, controlled cryptog<br />

r a p h i c i t e m s , t e l e v i s i o n , n a v i g a t i o n , a v i o n i c s , a n d r e l a t e d<br />

communications equipment <strong>and</strong> associated tools, test sets <strong>and</strong> accessory<br />

equipment.<br />

(b) Receives <strong>and</strong> inspects incoming equipment to determine requirements,<br />

assigns work to subordinates, <strong>and</strong> assures proper repair<br />

through quality control inspections of in-process work <strong>and</strong> by final<br />

inspections <strong>and</strong> test of completed work.<br />

(c) Ensures that maintenance schedules are adhered to <strong>and</strong> that<br />

s c h e d u l e d m a i n t e n a n c e p r o g r a m s i n c l u d e r e g u l a r p r e v e n t i v e<br />

maintenance.<br />

(d) Plans, coordinates, <strong>and</strong> supervises maintenance activities <strong>and</strong><br />

programs; develops repair <strong>and</strong> operating procedures; <strong>and</strong> interprets<br />

technical publications <strong>and</strong> data for use in repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance<br />

functions.<br />

(e) Instructs personnel in the application of specialized test procedures<br />

to isolate causes of equipment failures <strong>and</strong> malfunctions <strong>and</strong><br />

on making extensive or unusual repairs or modifications.<br />

(f) Solves unusually complex problems of diagnosis, modification<br />

<strong>and</strong> repair.<br />

(g) Estimates repair requirements <strong>and</strong> costs <strong>and</strong> requisitions replacement<br />

parts <strong>and</strong> supplies.<br />

(h) Supervises general technical <strong>and</strong> complex repair of electronics<br />

equipment from organizational through depot level.<br />

(i) Determines substitutability or fabrication of minor parts <strong>and</strong><br />

electronic assemblies.<br />

(j) Advises comm<strong>and</strong>er or staff officers on electronics equipment<br />

development, procurement, capabilities, limitations <strong>and</strong> employment.<br />

(k) Evaluates maintenance performed.<br />

(2) CW3—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(1).<br />

(b) Provides technical guidance <strong>and</strong> direction to subordinate operating<br />

elements.<br />

(c) Advises members of allied forces using U.S. <strong>Army</strong> electronics<br />

equipment.<br />

(3) CW4—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(2).<br />

(b) Provides guidance <strong>and</strong> technical direction to subordinate elements<br />

or other staff elements.<br />

(4) CW5—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(3).<br />

(b) Manages the development of training packages to ensure that<br />

<strong>Army</strong> personnel are prepared to operate <strong>and</strong> maintain new systems<br />

prior to fielding.<br />

h. Grading <strong>and</strong> position titles. Authorized position titles are provided<br />

in appendixes B <strong>and</strong> C. The following grades are used to code<br />

positions into one of four definable skill levels: W2 equals WO1/<br />

CW2; W3 equals CW3; W4 equals CW4; <strong>and</strong> W5 equals CW5. The<br />

grades are listed in the following st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade tables:<br />

(1) Table 8-918B-1. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

(2) Table 8-918B-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TDA.<br />

8–104. Area of Concentration 919— Engineer Equipment<br />

Repair<br />

There is one warrant officer specialty within this AOC. The skills<br />

<strong>and</strong> knowledge required to qualify for this specialty provide technical<br />

expertise to operate, maintain, <strong>and</strong> repair the <strong>Army</strong>’s engineer<br />

equipment.<br />

8–105. <strong>Military</strong> <strong>Occupational</strong> Specialty 919A—Engineer<br />

Equipment Repair Technician<br />

a. Licensing/certification requirement. None.<br />

b. Prerequisites. DA Cir 601 series.<br />

c. MOS 919A. MOS 919A is an accession MOS. The enlisted<br />

feeder MOSs are 52C, 52D, 52F, 52X, <strong>and</strong> 62B.<br />

d. Associated SQI.<br />

(1) 0—No special qualifications.<br />

(2) 7—Parachutist.<br />

(3) 8—Instructor.<br />

(4) T—Transition (personnel only).<br />

(5) Z—Research, Development, Test, <strong>and</strong> Evaluation Technician.<br />

(b) Analyzes malfunctions <strong>and</strong> supervises minor repair <strong>and</strong> adj<br />

u s t m e n t o f e n g i n e e r e q u i p m e n t u t i l i z e d f o r p o w e r g e n e r a t i o n ,<br />

earthmoving, shaping <strong>and</strong> compacting, lifting <strong>and</strong> loading, quarrying<br />

<strong>and</strong> rock crushing, asphalt concrete mixing <strong>and</strong> surfacing, water<br />

purification, refrigeration <strong>and</strong> air conditioning, missile systems supp<br />

o r t , w a t e r g a p c r o s s i n g , P O L t r a n s f e r a n d e n g i n e e r e l e c t r o n i c<br />

application.
