(a) Comm<strong>and</strong>s a TMDE Maintenance Support Detachment/Team<br />

<strong>and</strong> is responsible for morale, welfare, training, UCMJ, <strong>and</strong> discipline<br />

of assigned personnel.<br />

(b) Manages <strong>and</strong> supervises personnel <strong>and</strong> activities engaged in<br />

calibration <strong>and</strong> repair of Test, Measurement, <strong>and</strong> Diagnostic Equipment<br />

(TMDE), calibration st<strong>and</strong>ards, <strong>and</strong> related instruments <strong>and</strong><br />

accessories.<br />

(c) Supervises direct support, general support, <strong>and</strong> depot level<br />

maintenance of all supported TMDE.<br />

( d ) E s t a b l i s h e s S t a n d i n g O p e r a t i n g P r o c e d u r e s a n d i n t e r n a l<br />

policies.<br />

(e) Manages supply, equipment <strong>and</strong> personnel assets.<br />

(f) Coordinates technical, administrative, <strong>and</strong> logistical interface<br />

b e t w e e n t h e d e t a c h m e n t / t e a m , s u p p o r t e d u n i t s , a n d u n i t o f<br />

attachment.<br />

(g) Prepares materiel readiness reports <strong>and</strong> provides input for unit<br />

readiness reports.<br />

(h) Develops, rehearses, <strong>and</strong> implements load plans <strong>and</strong> deployment<br />

scenarios.<br />

(i) Manages Instrument Master Record File (IMRF) for scheduled<br />

<strong>and</strong> supported items of TMDE.<br />

(j) Develops <strong>and</strong> manages interservice <strong>and</strong> intraservice support<br />

agreements.<br />

( k ) S e r v e s a s s y s t e m a d m i n i s t r a t o r f o r l o c a l A u t o m a t e d D a t a<br />

Processing Equipment (ADPE) systems; including the Calibration<br />

Management Information System (CALMIS), workstation controllers,<br />

administrative ADPE, <strong>and</strong> supplementary devices.<br />

(l) Evaluates specifications <strong>and</strong> analyzes measurement data to<br />

ensure compliance.<br />

(m) Employs highly specialized test <strong>and</strong> diagnostic procedures to<br />

adjust or repair a broad spectrum of TMDE.<br />

(n) Interprets technical data to maintain secondary reference <strong>and</strong><br />

t r a n s f e r l e v e l c a l i b r a t i o n s t a n d a r d s w i t h i n s p e c i f i e d f u n c t i o n a l<br />

capabilities.<br />

(o) Certifies accuracy of instrumentation <strong>and</strong> ensures that accuracy<br />

is traceable to higher level st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

(p) Performs error analysis on measurement systems.<br />

(q) Evaluates <strong>and</strong> determines TMDE maintenance support req<br />

u i r e m e n t s , e s t a b l i s h e s w o r k p r i o r i t i e s , a n d a s s i g n s w o r k t o<br />

subordinates.<br />

( r ) F o r m u l a t e s t e c h n i q u e s a n d p r o c e d u r e s f o r c a l i b r a t i o n a n d<br />

repair of unique of complex TMDE.<br />

(s) Solves unusually complex problems regarding diagnosis <strong>and</strong><br />

repair.<br />

(t) Estimates TMDE repair requirements <strong>and</strong> costs, <strong>and</strong> determines<br />

economic repairability.<br />

(u) Determines substitutability or fabrication of minor parts <strong>and</strong><br />

electronic assemblies.<br />

(v) Interprets, applies, <strong>and</strong> disseminates administrative, technical,<br />

logistical, <strong>and</strong> supply publications <strong>and</strong> related data.<br />

( w ) R e v i e w s a n d d e v e l o p s a l l t e c h n i c a l c o r r e s p o n d e n c e a n d<br />

reports.<br />

(x) Establishes unit safety program; <strong>and</strong> ensures adherence to<br />

safety policies, practices, <strong>and</strong> regulations associated with electricity,<br />

pressurized gases, ionizing radiation, microwave radiation, laser radiation,<br />

<strong>and</strong> mercury h<strong>and</strong>ling hazards.<br />

(y) Observes work practices <strong>and</strong> ensures correct application of<br />

procedures <strong>and</strong> techniques.<br />

( z ) S u p e r v i s e s t h e r e c e i p t , s u r v e i l l a n c e , s h i p p i n g , a n d u s e o f<br />

radiological sources.<br />

(aa) Conducts surveillance inspections in accordance with Nuclear<br />

Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements.<br />

(ab) Supervises local radiation dosimetry program.<br />

(ac) Instructs personnel in the use of calibration st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong><br />

workstations; <strong>and</strong> the application of specialized test procedures <strong>and</strong><br />

metrology skills to calibrate TMDE, isolate causes of TMDE failures<br />

<strong>and</strong> malfunctions, <strong>and</strong> in making repair or modifications.<br />

(ad) Trains personnel to operate <strong>and</strong> maintain the Calibration<br />

Management Information System (CALMIS).<br />

(ae) Prepares <strong>and</strong> implements a unit Mission Essential Task List<br />

(METL).<br />

(af) Ensures that maintenance schedules are adhered to <strong>and</strong> that<br />

scheduled maintenance programs include regular preventive maintenance<br />

checks <strong>and</strong> services.<br />

( a g ) P l a n s , c o o r d i n a t e s , a n d s u p e r v i s e s m a i n t e n a n c e p r o g r a m s<br />

<strong>and</strong> activities.<br />

(ah) Implements <strong>Army</strong> maintenance management policy <strong>and</strong> The<br />

<strong>Army</strong> Maintenance Management System (TAMMS); <strong>and</strong> applies the<br />

directive TB 750-25 within internal <strong>and</strong> support operations.<br />

(ai) Estimates supply requirements <strong>and</strong> requisitions replacement<br />

parts <strong>and</strong> supplies.<br />

(aj) Supervises maintenance of unit bench <strong>and</strong> shop stocks.<br />

(ak) Forecasts ammunition requirements.<br />

(al) Ensures initial, in-process, <strong>and</strong> final quality assurance/quality<br />

control (QA/QC) procedures are established <strong>and</strong> applied to work<br />

processes <strong>and</strong> end-item sampling plans.<br />

(am) Serves as principal advisor on TMDE matters to divisional/<br />

corps comm<strong>and</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> materiel management centers.<br />

(an) Participates with battalion <strong>and</strong> higher level staff in developing<br />

contingency <strong>and</strong> deployment plans, field exercises, maintenance<br />

management strategies, <strong>and</strong> other actions that relate to TMDE maintenance<br />

support.<br />

(ao) Provides technical assistance <strong>and</strong> advice regarding TMDE<br />

development, procurement, capabilities <strong>and</strong> limitations, <strong>and</strong> employment<br />

to comm<strong>and</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> staff officers.<br />

( a p ) A s s i s t s c o m m a n d e r s o f s u p p o r t u n i t s i n i d e n t i f y i n g a n d<br />

scheduling TMDE support requirements.<br />

(aq) Establishes <strong>and</strong> maintains a viable unit physical security <strong>and</strong><br />

crime prevention program.<br />

(ar) Plans, prepares, <strong>and</strong> maintains an operating budget for the<br />

detachment/team.<br />

(as) Monitors fiscal allocations, commitments, <strong>and</strong> expenditures;<br />

<strong>and</strong> maintains financial accountability.<br />

(at) Establishes, monitors, <strong>and</strong> maintains a comprehensive environmental<br />

protection program IAW national <strong>and</strong> local directives.<br />

(2) CW3—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(1).<br />

(b) Monitors <strong>and</strong> evaluates the performance of contractor personnel<br />

performing calibration <strong>and</strong> repair functions for the <strong>Army</strong>.<br />

(c) Serves as Engineering Technician or Maintenance Engineering<br />

Technician, involved in calibration equipment or TMDE development<br />

<strong>and</strong> support activities, at a MACOM or sub-MACOM.<br />

(3) CW4—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(2).<br />

(b) Develops, implements, <strong>and</strong> monitors programs of instruction<br />

that enhance training of other warrant officer <strong>and</strong> enlisted MOSs.<br />

(4) CW5—<br />

(a) Performs duties described in paragraph g(3).<br />

(b) Integrates TMDE functions across MACOM or Department<br />

of the <strong>Army</strong> levels.<br />

(c) Provides technical <strong>and</strong> tactical assistance at any echelon of<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> or suport activity for the U.S. <strong>Army</strong>, or liaison activities<br />

with allied armies.<br />

(d) Presents written or oral briefings to line, staff, <strong>and</strong> professional<br />

personnel on TMDE programs <strong>and</strong> related subject matters.<br />

(e) Administers the MOS Life Cycle Management <strong>and</strong> oversees<br />
