c. MOS 420C. MOS 420C is an accession MOS. The enlisted<br />

feeder MOSs are in CMF 97.<br />

d. Associated SQI.<br />

(1) 0—No special qualifications.<br />

(2) 7—Parachutist.<br />

(3) 8—Instructor.<br />

(4) T—Transition (personnel only).<br />

(5) Z—Research, Development, Test, <strong>and</strong> Evaluation Technician.<br />

e. Associated ASI.<br />

(1) 6M—Mobilization <strong>and</strong> Demobilization Operations.<br />

f. Qualifications.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2 must—<br />

( a ) B e a U . S . c i t i z e n . Q u a l i f y f o r a s e c u r i t y c l e a r a n c e o f<br />

SECRET.<br />

(b) Complete the B<strong>and</strong>master Warrant Officer Basic Course.<br />

(2) CW3 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(1).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Advanced Course.<br />

(3) CW4 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(2).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Staff Course (WOSC).<br />

(4) CW5 must—<br />

(a) Meet qualifications described in paragraph f(3).<br />

(b) Complete the Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course (WOSSC).<br />

g. Duties.<br />

(1) WO1/CW2—<br />

(a) Conduct or lead instrumental musical groups, including concert<br />

b<strong>and</strong>s, marching b<strong>and</strong>s, <strong>and</strong> dance b<strong>and</strong>s in support of official<br />

military <strong>and</strong> civilian ceremonies <strong>and</strong> functions.<br />

(b) Select music to accommodate abilities of musical groups <strong>and</strong><br />

appropriate for performance to be given.<br />

(c) Direct groups at rehearsals <strong>and</strong> performances to achieve desired<br />

musical effects, using conducting technique, technical knowledge,<br />

<strong>and</strong> talents of individual performers.<br />

(d) Transcribe or adapt musical compositions for use by an <strong>Army</strong><br />

b<strong>and</strong> musical group.<br />

(e) Participate in domestic <strong>and</strong> overseas civilian <strong>and</strong> military<br />

community relations functions representing the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> or the<br />

United States at the highest national <strong>and</strong> international levels.<br />

(f) Provide subject matter expertise on military traditions, ceremonies,<br />

<strong>and</strong> music to the comm<strong>and</strong> assigned.<br />

(2) CW3 performs duties described in paragraph g(1).<br />

(3) CW4 performs duties described in paragraph g(2).<br />

(4) CW5 performs duties described in paragraph g(3).<br />

h. Grading <strong>and</strong> position titles. Authorized position titles are provided<br />

in tables 6-2 <strong>and</strong> 6-3. The following grades are used to code<br />

positions into one of four definable skill levels: W2 equals WO1/<br />

CW2; W3 equals CW3; W4 equals CW4; <strong>and</strong> W5 equals CW5. The<br />

grades are listed in the following st<strong>and</strong>ards of grade tables:<br />

(1) Table 8-420C-1. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TOE/MTOE.<br />

(2) Table 8-420C-2. St<strong>and</strong>ards of grade TDA.<br />

8–67. Branch 55—Judge Advocate General’s Corps<br />

(Proponent: The Judge Advocate General) Manages administrative<br />

aspects of the delivery of total legal services to the Department of<br />

the <strong>Army</strong> <strong>and</strong> its members. Provides technical advice <strong>and</strong> assistance<br />

to judge advocates, DA civilian attorneys, comm<strong>and</strong>ers <strong>and</strong> staff,<br />

<strong>and</strong> enlisted <strong>and</strong> civilian legal support personnel in all areas of legal<br />

administration.<br />

8–68. Area of Concentration 550—Legal Administration<br />

Must have substantial knowledge <strong>and</strong> formal military or civilian<br />

equivalent education <strong>and</strong>/or experience in military administrative<br />

<strong>and</strong> legal procedures. Must be highly motivated, possess tact, initiative,<br />

<strong>and</strong> mature judgement. Must be able to communicate clearly<br />

both orally <strong>and</strong> in writing. Manages administrative aspects of delivery<br />

of total legal services to the Department of the <strong>Army</strong> <strong>and</strong> its<br />

members. Is chief of administration of an <strong>Army</strong> legal office or<br />

activity, primarily at a headquarters exercising general court-martial<br />

jurisdiction or a major comm<strong>and</strong>. Manages subordinate personnel,<br />

budget, facilities, <strong>and</strong> equipment required to support legal services<br />

provided at various organizational levels.<br />

8–69. <strong>Military</strong> <strong>Occupational</strong> Specialty 550A—Legal<br />

Administrator<br />

a. Licensing/certification requirement. None.<br />

b. Prerequisites. DA Cir 601 series.<br />

c. MOS 550A. MOS 550A is an accession MOS. The enlisted<br />

(a) Manages overall military <strong>and</strong> civilian administrative functions<br />

of an <strong>Army</strong> Legal Office.<br />

(b) Directs Office of the Staff Judge Advocate Information Management<br />

functions such as correspondence, telecommunications, rec<br />

o r d s m a n a g e m e n t , a u t o m a t i o n , r e p r o g r a p h i c s , m i c r o g r a p h i c s ,<br />

forms, printing <strong>and</strong> publications <strong>and</strong> visual aids.<br />

(c) Directs training of personnel in operation of computers, peripherals,<br />

<strong>and</strong> all off-line equipment.<br />

(d) Analyzes legal operations to determine where automated systems<br />

will enhance legal services.<br />

(e) Reviews internal automated legal research utilization reports.<br />

( f ) I s C h i e f P a r a l e g a l A d m i n i s t r a t o r f o r A d m i n i s t r a t i v e L a w ,<br />

Claims, Criminal Law, Legal Assistance, International Law (where<br />

applicable), <strong>and</strong> administrative support services of either a Staff<br />

Judge Advocate office of a headquarters having general court-martial<br />

jurisdiction, or Staff Judge Advocate of a major comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(g) Evaluates management data to determine how to maximize<br />

existing legal support, resources, improve effectiveness <strong>and</strong> efficiency<br />

of operations, management, <strong>and</strong> training.<br />

(h) Develops <strong>and</strong> prepares reports pertaining to manpower staffing<br />

<strong>and</strong> utilization programs, manpower survey documents, <strong>and</strong> organization<br />

studies for legal services systems.<br />

(i) Develops fiscal requirements, executes program budget guida<br />

n c e , a u t h e n t i c a t e s f u n d i n g o b l i g a t i o n s , a n d m o n i t o r s a l l s u c h<br />

requirements.<br />
